Background noise to write to

Hi, everyone! I stumbled across this really neat Youtube channel last night that has a whole bunch of videos that are a combination of background ambient noise combined with music and sometimes rain (like cozy coffee shop w/ jazz music on a rainy day).  Theres' even some holiday ones if you're wanting some nice peaceful instrumental Chrismas music. And most of them run about 8hrs long with apparently no ads to interfere and startle the hell out of you lol.

it really is, there's all kinds of nice ones i've listened to parts of. there's like little bits of indistinct conversation, or cups clinking, fire crackling, it really does just kind of fade in the back and you don't really pay attention

lol hey, they're like 8hrs long, it'll get you through the whole work day. get a nice cup of hot coffee/chocolate/tea and you'll be all set :D

I've grown to prefer ambient noise or ambient sound mixes to write by instead of acutal 'music'...less distracting and better (for me) at blocking out external interruptions.

exactly...singing is not conducive to writing lol.
Even singing in foreign languages may or may not be exempt...depends on the nature of the tune.
I've built a number of soundtracks with ambient-mixer.com this year...and I have a compilation of 'space' noises (from planets and stars etc) and there are two youtube sites that I like to use that are 'ambient' collections up to 10 hours long usually.

i had found one before that was like hogwarts library or something, pages turning, footsteps, occasional sound of an owl flying through lol, or i've found recordings of thunderstorms (which are nice to go to sleep to). i liked these because it has some soft mellow jazz or instrumental christmas music in them paired with either rain or a crackling fireplace. otherwise, I'll wind up finding game or movie soundtracks that are all just instrumental stuff, get a few dramatic pieces, some happy upbeat stuff and just general "we're off on adventure" kind of stuff
