Hello friends! Happy Autumn to you all.

I bring you a quick prompt list of lyrics from Taylor's new album The Life of a Showgirl. Hit me with a 1-12 or random, as many or as few as you'd like. I've shuffled the tracks, so what you'll get is a mystery!

And if you're SUPER sick of Taylor already, I apologize. We'll keep this one short I was going to offer up the entire discography for the fourth time, but I changed my mind at the last minute ♥

If you would rather have a prompt from one of the other albums, however, just let me know. I'm more than happy to oblige.

Happy Writing!

Songfic words v2

The first song I’m bringing you is “Mine” by Kelly Clarkson. I think she has an amazing vocal range and there are a number of her songs that bring me to tears on a regular basis. I love this one because it has such a strong message, her voice is heartbreaking and it just hits me in the feels each and every time!

I’ve embedded the video from YouTube and deliberately chosen a lyric video so you can sing along if that pleases you! Write/create something evoked by this song – is it a heartbreaker? Rebuilding your character? Or just a feeling?

Post direct to the comm, to the introduction post or just provide a link and I’lll make you a Songfic Pretty!

SongFic words v1

Hello everyone, and welcome to our next long challenge — Songfic! This challenge will run from October 16 to November 30. I'm stealing the challenge blurb and rules from a previous year's post!

The goal for this challenge is to write a fic or create graphics inspired by a song — the title, the lyrics, the overall song or the music video.

Some simple rules

1. Pick any song — its title, its lyrics, the feelings it evokes when you listen to it or even its music video — and get inspired.

2. Write fic totalling 1,000 words or more, or create your choice of graphics (10 icons, 5 banners or 1 wallpaper) based on your inspiration. This can be original or any fandom of your choice.

3. You can include some of the actual lyrics in your fics or graphics, or you can just use any part of the song or music video as an inspiration — but please make sure what you were inspired by is listed somewhere so we know!

4. You can post your creation to the comm or to anywhere else you'd like and just link it here (in this post or any of the other Songfic Challenge posts).

5. Complete the challenge by the end of November 30th, anywhere in the world.

Easy enough, right? And to help you, I will be posting songs — sometimes with lyrics and (hopefully) with the link to its music video — throughout the course of the challenge.

And now, I will leave you to it. Good luck, have fun and happy creating! And please let me know if you have questions!

Libra is the name of a constellation that is interpreted as representing a pair of scales. It is also known as the Scales or the Balance. A constellation is a group of stars that appear near each other in the sky, especially a group that has been given a name. Libra is considered one of the 12 zodiacal constellations—constellations that appear within a particular portion of the sky called the zodiac. In astronomy, the zodiac is the band of sky along which the paths of the sun, the moon, and the planets appear to move. Despite its basis in astronomy, the word zodiac is mainly associated with and most often used in the context of astrology, the nonscientific practice in which the positions of heavenly bodies at certain times are thought to influence or be correlated with human behavior and events. In astrology, zodiac refers to a diagram (often a circular one) representing the zodiac belt and showing the symbols associated with each of the 12 constellations or sections, which are called the signs of the zodiac. Libra is one of these signs. It is situated between Virgo and Scorpio and is considered the seventh sign of the zodiac. The other signs of the zodiac are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. The position of the sun in a particular portion of the zodiac at the moment of a person’s birth is thought to correlate with their personality. This is what people are referring to when they talk about their zodiac sign (or star sign or often just sign). People whose sign is Libra are those born between September 23 and October 22. The word Libra can be used as a noun to refer to someone who is born during this time, as in I was born in late October, so I’m a Libra. The word Libran can be used to mean the same thing. It can also be used as an adjective form of Libra. Example: Oh, your birthday is in October? Are you a Libra?

So, since I did the count and put that up, I am getting in now before I forget it's my turn! It may not be Monday yet for you, but you'll get there. I am fully immersed in Monday and all the joy (NOT) that it brings! I have absolutely no plans to add to my words this week, because I am just not currently capable, but I do have great plans to finish the birthday card for my 2nd daughter (N2D) that I just need to put an inner into and then post, as she turns (OMG!) 27 next week. Where the F did THOSE years go? The other thing I am working on this week that's creative is my temp blanket - I put it down a few months back so I could finish a vest I was knitting for my grandson (that is now done and with him, so WOOT!), so I have once again picked up the crochet blanket. I was midway thru May, so I have a way to go to catch up on that, so my aim is to finish May by the end of this week... let's see how that goes.

But enough about me; how are things with you and your creativity? Tell us how you're getting on. Is there anything you've done recently that you are especially proud of? Want to share with us? Link a pic or the words you are so pleased with here, so we can all enjoy and 'like'!

Mine would be the vest:

Onwards! So, for our Big Buddies, you should be at around the 43% mark of your goal. How are you doing? Daily Challengers, you guys rock it so hard! Keep up the great work!

Your Flash! Challenge is: "What are you going to do about it?" Rock out some words and let us see how wonderful you are! Any fandom (or none), no limits, no pressure! Link us if you want!

Get scrolling back through the last week for all the prompts, or check out your favourite tags! Remember that our current Long Challenge is Colors, and that ends this week, so get your words & graphics in before this wonderful challenge ends! Next up is Songfic, which the amazing [livejournal.com profile] skargasm will be hosting! The opening post should be up in a few days, so keep your eyes peeled! I know it will be fun!

Now, get those creative hats back on (if they were ever off) and make something fun! ;-)

HUGE thanks to those who contribute faithfully every month, and to those who have added ANY words this year - you are our backbone, and we love you for it!

As for where we are so far this year, we still have Oct, Nov & Dec to go, so keep it up - we can hit 3 or even 4 million if we all keep adding graphics and words! Do scroll back through the comm for unused prompts or find your own and get working, if you can!
