It's time to start thinking about next year! I know it's busy for most people right now, but even if you are a lurker, we want your opinion! There are no wrong answers, and no shame no matter how you answer here. I am leaving the results open to everyone, so all I ask is that if you are going to comment about anything or to anyone, be as nice as you usually are, as we're just wanting this to be a great place for everyone to feel safe, no matter how silly they think what they're suggesting is!

[livejournal.com profile] kaige68 and I are probably going to need more help next year, as we have both been distracted away at times this year, and we really want to keep this comm going if people are enjoying what it provides and want to keep it alive. We probably only need a few people, but think seriously about whether you can reliably offer your time before answering the mod question, as we really don't want gaps in posting, although obviously we're pretty relaxed on the whole and no-one gets in trouble for forgetting or being late with anything! ;-)

Let me know if there are any hassles with this, such as it not working for you or anything glitching.

The last question needs a text answer and should just be a very short general idea of the challenge - you can always go into more detail in a comment. AND, please comment if you have more to say; thoughts are always welcome!

[Poll #2076133]

That's it for now. I'll leave this open till Dec 26th, and we'll post about where we go from here after that, when I at least will hopefully have more time...

And in case I forget later in the week, MERRY CHRISTMAS, SEASON'S GREETINGS, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS, however and whatever you celebrate at this time of year! ;-)

I used to be a lot more active here and hope to be again next year. You have a lot of wonderful challenges that I'd like to write fic for. (I'm a completionist at heart, though not in deed, lol.) These days I only participate in the Weekend Challenges because they sometimes manage to spark something small. And that even though I've been telling myself for weeks to write less fic. Ahem.

I like this community because it is a stress free writing zone. I hope to write and post more next year.

I know I'm no help by voting for ALL THE THINGS. Sorry. :D

Also, I do want to help out and despite the RL issues I'm having, I don't forsee anything in the near future that would keep me away. So, if nothing else, I'll offer to pinch hit when needed.

HAPPY EVERYTHING EVERYONE! I need to go get my cookies out of the oven now. :D

Thanks! :D And I definitely do enjoy myself here.

Things are going well now, got even a little good news on Friday, but it's going as well as can be expected, so that's always good. And although I'm three or more hours behind everyone else, I'm always here if needed.

HAHAHA... I'd send you some but not sure they'd be worth eating by the time they got to you.

Oh... and while I was out last night, I stumbled across a Monty Python themed Monopoly game board. I thought of you immediately. :D

Thanks! :D

Hahaha... only the chocolate chip have nuts, none of the others do (because as much as I like nuts, I don't like them in my cookies or brownies).

It's all good - Blackadder works, too!

The second one was a toughie. In my heart I'd like to volunteer to help mod, but my head tells me that I didn't do so well with consistency this year. However, I'm usually pretty good as a pinch hitter :)

You all did a fantastic job this year - and I for one, really enjoy hanging out with such cool folks.

I voted! And I am definitely a person who can help with monthly or even weekly challenges--if that helps :)

I ran a bingo one month last year, and did @6 weekend challenges. I can take part to the same degree this coming year, and maybe a second monthly challenge (either another bingo or something else- maybe one early in the year, one late?).

I can help out - Jan, Feb, Sept, Oct,Nov

Hey!

Sorry, I haven't been on much because my schedule is kind of weird these days, but I check the community regularly. I can help out Jan and Feb 2018, and I can also help anytime from Sept 4 through December 22, 2018. Let me know if there's something I can do to help??

Motivation was scarce this year, I only managed one not!fic, lurked and let the posts boost my mood, I'm hoping next year goes better. I really love the weekend challenges, though, they give me life. Also, the word of the day.
I am no on the mod question, mostly because I have no real idea how it works or what it entails. I'd like to help out, though.

I do have a prompt/challenge idea, I did in a writing group once, we called it "What did you just say?" It's a dialog prompt, where a normal dialog takes a sudden, possibly nonsensical turn, like "The storm won't reach us here, the cave is save." "What about the pig's feet?" (This isn't a very good example because I'm not really good with on the spot dialog?), and you have to write a dialog where it works.
There can be additional rules, we once had a dialog about cookies and cyanide and the prompt fill wasn't allowed to be about crime.

I have been absolutely terrible with writing the past - year/2 years? Oops. But starting January 1st I have taken on the challenge of writing 1,000 words per day for at least 3 months. So I see myself trying to come back to this awesome place to get inspiration and write write write! I really need to get my life organized durrrr.

I could try to help out with challenges. I think a mod would have to nudge me or email me to remind me to help. I know I did August Rush that one year, I could always do that again!

I meant to be around and participate in about everything this year, but life had other plans. Still, I have high hopes for next year and I really want to commit to all things writing. So you just tell me if/when you need me to help and what I should do :o) (I tend to have extremely busy times alternating with too much time on my hands, but I should be able to make it work.)

All good—I've been on vacation, so I failed to catch up on LJ anyways :o)

I'll make sure to help whenever I can.

Thanks! Let's ride that train together, shall we? ^.^

This ended up being a really rough year for me, and I was pretty much MIA from here (and a lot of places), but I miss writing regularly and I miss the inspiration this place provides, so I'm really hoping to re-dedicate myself this coming year.

I don't want to mod because some rl things are still very much up in the air and I'm not sure what's going to happen, but I would love to help with some of the monthly challenges or weekend challenges or whatnot! I find that when I help out, I stay more involved in other things, so I definitely want to do that if possible! xD
