Parergon (noun)
parergon [pa-rur-gon]

noun, plural parerga [pa-rur-guh]
1. something that is an accessory to a main work or subject; embellishment.
2. work undertaken in addition to one's principal work.

Origin: 1595-1605; < Greek párergon, noun use of neuter of párergos beside the main subject, subordinate, equivalent to par- par- + érg(on) work + -os adj. suffix

Now YOU come up with a sentence (or fic? or graphic?) that best illustrates the word.

NaNoWriMo.org hosted a Q&A with 2 editors from one of their sponsors, Swoon Reads. I found it very informative even though YA is not my genre. It was interesting to hear what editors look for, the revising process and how they find new authors. Not just for NaNo folks :-)

Hey everyone, have I told you lately how awesome you are? No? Well, you are! I am a little late with this post because last night got busy, but I finally made it, and the good start to 2017 reads like this:

242,293 words!

That's made up of around 83K of graphic words (left the exact count at home, sorry! Will amend later) and 159K of written words, which is a darn good start to 2017!

YOU GUYS ROCK!

Now, let's see what February brings - we have a Bingo challenge starting soon, and there are all manner of prompts and challenges still to come, so get those creating hats on and join us!

We are GO for February Bingo launch!!! Repeat: We are a GO for BINGO!!!

This post (hopefully) contains all the pertinent information you need to have a fun and successful Bingo event!! If anything is unclear (which it probably is), let me know and I'll try to elucidate further.

Very very special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] craterdweller for taking on the task of making the cards. You rock the most!!!! Thanks also to [livejournal.com profile] craterdweller, [livejournal.com profile] erinm_4600, and [livejournal.com profile] guineamania for volunteering to help provide rewards! (See below for rewards.)

*A quick note of clarification - we are trying to limit the cards to one or a maximum of two per request to start. When you finish your first card, please come back and request another. I wasn't clear on this point and I apologize.*

As per the suggestions of the fabulous members of this fabulous community, there are seven categories of cards:

ROMANCE
AU
GRAPHICS
CELEBRATIONS
SMUT/KINK
LOCATIONS
TROPES

By popular vote, we are concentrating on cards that are 2x2 and 3x3 (which include a free space.) (Cards that are 4x4 can be special requested and may take an extra day or so.).

In order to receive your card, post a comment here requesting the category and the number of squares – 2x2, 3x3 (or 4x4 if desired).  [livejournal.com profile] craterdweller will make your card and we’ll get it to you.

There are several ways to achieve a Bingo:

If you're not sure about any of this, please ask! Or you can email me at tkeylasunset@yahoo.com .

If you complete ANY of the above Bingos you are welcome to come back and request second card - same category or different. It's up to you. (You may also request a second card if the first simply doesn't trip your trigger, so to speak.)

- To be eligible for rewards, completed Bingos need to be posted by midnight your time, March 1. You are welcome to post your work any time!
- You can post your completed Bingos anywhere: here at the comm, in your own journals, AO3 (you can tag your works on AO3 with Community: 1 Million Words), personal websites - it's entirely up to you. If you post them directly to this community, please use the 'challenge: bingo' tag and a creation tag for your post.
- Be sure to comment with a link to your Bingo fill at this Bingo post.
- How you fill a prompt is up to you. There is no right or wrong way to interpret a prompt.
- You can change 1 prompt on your Bingo Card if you are uninspired. If you need a substitute squire, post a comment here and I’ll provide you with a replacement. Please be sure and tell me the theme of your card.
- Graphic prompts for any graphic or non-graphic Bingo card can be interpreted any way you choose.

I nearly forgot about this!

But then I remembered I did around 400 in outlining/world building towards something. I don't know if it'll ever become anything but I was struck with a bunny and wanted to get the words down.
