So it's 5 AM on Monday, the dog is out, the coffee is poured, and in all honesty, I'm not feeling that amazing. The truth is, that being from Massachusetts has sucked the amazing from me in this last week.

The office I work in has a TV, 75% of the time it's on the security cameras. My boss likes to watch Good Morning America, and the news at lunch, and sometimes Millionaire. But last week it was all news. Friday, with the manhunt, there wasn't even a commercial or what the weather would be, it was just a constant barrage of information and watching so much of our executive branch of government doing what they do best. I am proud of my capital city, my commonwealth, region, country, continent, and planet; I guess I just get overwhelmed. I am left not at all kick-ass, brilliant, or inspired. And let's face it, it wasn't just a bad week in Boston.

And therefore, my amazing people, on amazing accolade Monday, my request for you today is this: How do you keep the amazing rolling? How do you get out of a funk and get back to amazing? How are you inspired in the face of bleakness and subsequently become inspiring? What amazing things have you done in the last 7 days?

It's my funk to get out of, and I will, because: YOU ARE ALL SO DAMN AMAZING!!!!

[livejournal.com profile] simplyn2deep is without the interwebs today! OH THE HORROR!!!

Without further ado (From the Miriam-Webster website):

Word of the Day:
transpire\tran-SPYRE\
DEFINITION
verb

1: to give off vaporous material; specifically : to give off or exude watery vapor especially from the surfaces of leaves
2: to become known or apparent : develop
3: to take place : go on, occur

DID YOU KNOW?
"Transpire" came to life in the late 16th century and was originally used in technical contexts to describe the passage of vapor through the pores of a membrane. From this technical use developed a figurative sense: "to escape from secrecy," or "to become known." That sense was often used in ambiguous contexts and could be taken to mean "happen." (For example, Emily Dickinson wrote in a letter, "I long to see you once more ... to tell you of many things which have transpired since we parted.") Thus the "to take place" sense developed. Around 1870, usage critics began to attack this sense as a misuse, and modern critics occasionally echo that sentiment. But the sense has been common for two centuries and today is found in serious and polished prose.

NOW: GO MAKE ME SOME WORDS!!!

To look over my Spring Fling fic for me. Just need someone to spot the mistakes as it were, give it a good poke and see what needs to be added or taken away.

For an idea of what it's about, the prompt I chose was -

Prompt : Surrogate Danny gets accidentally inseminated with Steve's sperm even though Steve specifically asked for a female surrogate. By the time they realize about the mix up, Danny is already pregnant. Throw in meddling friends and family too.

- so, any takers? It's about 20,000 words, Danny/Steve with some NC17 scenes towards the end.

Given the events all over the world over the last week or so I think this is a very fitting song to inspire us. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] goneahead for the discovery.

As always no word, wallpaper, icon and time limits, no rules! I’d really love to see what you can create :)
