Name: JJ or Jay
LJ age: This account was made in August '04, but my previous account was made in October '01, so I've been around a long time.
What is your Creativity Goal this year: At least one full-page drawing a week. No specific writing goals other than "do that more"
What is your goal this year beyond that: Make some progress on my health, mental and otherwise. Try to make the gap between aging out of my dad's health insurance and landing my own plan as small as possible.
Where in the world are you: Pittsburgh, PA, USA
Current Fandom(s): DC is my huge one right now, mostly of the comics and animated varieties, though I dabble in live-action (I look forward to the movies, and I'm somewhat into Flash and Supergirl - love-hate relationship with Arrow though)
Earlier/old Fandom(s): Harry Potter, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, Gundam (G and Wing), Avengers/MCU, Star Trek
Do you Original fic? Not often
Favorite comm(s): This one, though to blow off steam I rather like reading the entries over at bsc_snark
Gen, Het, or Slash: All of the above. Particularly because I am a total friendship junkie so gen is where it's at then. Also at the moment my favorite ship right now is a triad, so, hey, het and slash all in one.
Languages you write in: Just English, I'm afraid
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: Spaceballs. I've probably got most of the script memorized by now, and yet I still pick up something new most times I watch. Also sci-fi and parody are both my jams. And Rick Moranis is a delight.
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Well, ~apparently animation is its own genre, so that or superheroes, I guess? Oh, or musicals!
What inspires you? So many things, but tbh I have an eye for lost/wasted/unused potential, and almost nothing gets me quite as fired up to create and explore that. (Ask me about my love affair with rewriting bad sequels.)
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: I doodle a lot! Writing's become tougher for me the past couple of years, but my tendency there has always been toward drabbles and oneshots, particularly character introspective stuff
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: One of these days I will finish a multichapter. I'd also really love to get the hang of laying out comic pages. Oh, the many comics I'd draw if I could figure out the damn boxes.
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: Iced tea, with the occasional fruity liquor
Tell us about your Pet(s): There are six cats in this house. My two are Caramel and Sundae, and they are very cuddly longhairs.
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? Somewhat. There's some pressure, actually, though on the family front they tend to have skewed expectations of both my skill level and what types of art I'm interested in.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: I'm actually, like, aggressively not a crier, but... okay, I've been known to get weirdly emotional about Gotham City by R Kelly?? Also I'm okay listening to The Impossible Dream, but I'll probably be misty by the end if I'm singing it. Go figure.
How's your memory: Scattered. I miss my train of thought regularly. In fact, I once read someone comparing the ADD brain to trying to navigate the Library of Congress without a card catalog, and honestly I feel that in my soul.
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Walk, though mostly I get around by bus. I'm still puzzling out driving, I'm afraid, and sadly I never actually learned how to ride a bike.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: Hm. I honest-to-goodness never remembered how to spell 'restaurant' until I took Spanish in high school (because they're kind enough to pronounce the U, you see)
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up: Image

I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoy this gif!

Oddly enough in life, I never had much exposure to the DC universe. And then a friend forced me to watch the Young Justice cartoon series and I can't stop squeeing about it!

:)

I love DC so much! The Perez-Wolfman Teen Titans are my jam! Mind if I add you?
