Do you Original fic? Read it, write it, both?

Date: 2016-01-09 08:57 pm (UTC)LJ age: coming up 11 years (OMG, how'd that happen?)
What is your Creativity Goal this year: 50K words, 105 graphics
What is your goal this year beyond that: GO TO HAWAII WITH KAIGE IN SEPTEMBER!!!
Where in the world are you: Auckland, New Zealand
Current Fandom(s): H50, The Flash, Arrow, Star Trek (AOS), Torchwood, Firefly mainly, but a few others poke their noses in now and then
Earlier/old Fandom(s): Lost and LOTRips, and there's the other odd thing I've done that I probably won't repeat (crayon fic, anyone?)
Do you Original fic? YES, but not nearly enough - read it, write it, hope to one day publish but probably won't... (lazy)
Favorite comm(s): THIS ONE! Are there any others? Actually,
Gen, Het, or Slash: SLASH, SLASH & SLASH, although occasionally I take off the glasses and do gen. Once or twice, I even manages het *nods* (yes, it was a miracle)
Languages you write in: Only English, really. I dabble in gobble-de-gook
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: THE PRINCESS BRIDE. Because, really, how not? I know, inconceivable, right? Also Life of Brian and Monty Python's Holy Grail, and then there's Alien and LOTR/Hobbit, plus Star Wars and Grease. Tremors, Fright Night, the Terminator and Fast & Furious *drools over the dearly departed Paul Walker*
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Horror-comedy, SF-comedy, cartoons, action
What inspires you? anything that takes my fancy. I used to have muses whispering on a daily basis, but since I got older it's harder to hear them. Kaige is pretty good at insisting on prompting me at times
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: writing is pretty easy as long as I actually open up a document, but I'm way better at character-study than at plotting. I've been told my sex is pretty hot most of the time!
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: PLOTTING!
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: Water or juice most of the time, although there's nothing like a hot chocolate or mocha on a cold winter's day
Tell us about your Pet(s): One of my cats, Cody, is currently throwing up in the hallway - you needed to know that, right? (yes, I'll clean it up in a while. Thank God there's no carpet down there!) My other cat, Zac is sitting on the bed, listening to his brother throw up... (if only I could train him to clean up)
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? I have to admit, mine mostly don't care, although I have a slasher daughter, which makes for an interesting life and makes me quite proud in a way!
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: Alison by Elvis Costello and I don't even know why! I think it's the heartfelt way he sings it. My aim is true...
How's your memory: Like a bleeding goldfish, and the sad thing is that I keep thinking 'I'll remember that' even when I know it's so bad!
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Can I just sit still? HA. I actually went for a 2 hour walk in the native bush with my Hubby and older daughter yesterday, so I'm getting fitter, honest!
I don't think that word means what you think it means: I always type 'becasue' instead of 'because' and 'toehr' instead of 'other' as well as other (HA) assorted typos, because (HA) my fingers seem to be unevenly fast and hey, THOSE ARE THE RIGHT LETTERS, you work out the order!
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up: I may be a sandwich short of a picnic most days, but who needs sandwiches anyway? GIVE ME CAKE!!!

Date: 2016-01-09 09:37 pm (UTC)LJ age: 3 years i think. But two years actively
What is your Creativity Goal this year: I want to write 200k this year and get started on an idea I have for an original fiction novel (it's about Space Pirates)
What is your goal this year beyond that: I want to average above 60% at uni so I can stay on my masters course. I also want to lose a lot of weight to get back to a healthy body weight.
Where in the world are you: United Kingdom, Midlands for uni, Yorkshire for home.
Current Fandom(s): At the moment it is hard core Star Wars but also Man from UNCLE (2015), Once Upon a Time and White Collar chugging away in the background
Earlier/old Fandom(s): Les Miserables will always be my home fandom, the one that never leaves and I would hate it if it did. I also love: Doctor Who, MARVEL, Atlantis, Chuck, Merlin, Glee and more
Do you Original fic? I try, but I tend to lose motivation easier when it comes to original fic
Favorite comm(s): here obvs. but I also love allthingsfandom and AvLand
Gen, Het, or Slash: Everything and Anything ;)
Languages you write in: English, I wish I knew enough of another language to be able to write fic
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: STARDUST! Because it was always my favourite film as a kid and still makes me so happy to watch. I also watch Princess Pride a lot and Star Wars (all of them) and Tangled.
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Sci-fi and Fantasy mostly but my guilty pleasure is the trashy action films like Olympus has Fallen, Fast and Furious, the Expendables. Oh I forgot about Spy Films: Bond, Mission Impossible, Man from UNCLE, Jack Reacher, Bourne, Jack Ryan ... yeah
What inspires you? A lot of things, I get a lot of inspiration from music and just thinking about the universe around the characters and what the character's pasts are e.t.c
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: I can do quick snippets into a world and like patchy drabbles in the same universe.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: Long fic, I don't have the attention span needed and so the endings are often really bad
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: Pepsi and Lemonade and my personal nectar of the gods Strongbow Dark Fruits. It is beautiful and not that high an alcohol content
Tell us about your Pet(s): I don't really have any. I have a pony that is owned by my Riding for the Disabled Group, I have been training him and he is my little baby (I miss him so much :( I'm at uni and I can only see him on RDA days when I am home as well. I'm scared he'll have forgotten about me and found a new person when I finally get to see him again. Which will be in March so I won't have seen him in six months)
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? Um, not particularly but they accept it. My brother likes writing so he gets me to read over his work and point out flaw e.t.c as I also write.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: I don't really have one. I tend to cry more at films and the occasional book not songs. I always create at the end of Toy Story 3, I am an emotional wreck after the rollercoster of the first three Toy Storys
How's your memory: I'm good at long term completely pointless things but not short term, i need reminders for every thing and cannot do exams.
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Walk mostly as I can't drive and neither can my mum. I also can't ride a bike
I don't think that word means what you think it means: INCONCEIVABLE! (I couldn't resist) and I am attrocious at spelling so a lot of fancy words don't get used. I can never spell decision and always have to use the spell checker (descion is the most common way but I use a range)
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up: PLEASE TALK TO ME! I like to make friends and I am not that good at real life social things!
What this needed is more Ewan McGregor

Date: 2016-01-10 01:30 am (UTC)LJ age: I started my account in August 2009. Someone better in math than me will have to figure out how long that is.
What is your Creativity Goal this year: 250K words. 2015 was words-fail for so many reasons.
What is your goal this year beyond that: Fill up my etsy store. Get a job? Get my RL in order?

Current Fandom(s): for writing - H50 and Star Trek. For watching, Castle, Sherlock, and Agent Carter. I also love the Avenger Universe.
Earlier/old Fandom(s): Only Star Trek
Do you Original fic? In my head. On "paper" in fits and starts. I'd like to do more.
Favorite comm(s): this is one is the BEST. And the only one in which I am active.
Gen, Het, or Slash: It almost always turns into slash no matter my intentions.

Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): The only TV I watch is H50 and Castle so I guess detective?
What inspires you? random randomness - I wonder what would happen if XYZ occurred?
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: Writing comes easily when I am in the zone. I really love writing dialog, and I'm not particularly good at description, mostly because it doesn't interest me as a whole. My muses can be pretty insistent when they are around. Right now they must be recovering from the holidays as they aren't here.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: I've been experimenting with polymer clay. It's great fun but I'm not good at it - not yet. I'll post a creation when I have one I'm happy with.

She's sweet and adorable and loves everybody. YoQuera is a foundling. She looks a little like the Taco Bell dog but not so small. She is the definition of sassy. Layla is also a foundling. She looks like a black Australian shepherd. She's a little pig - demands part of whatever we are eating. And finally there's Maggie - a Great Pyrenees. She's completely white, and at one and half years old, is still a puppy. She is the goofiest puppy ever and not really very smart. But her sweetness makes up for her lack of intelligence.
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? My sister doesn't really care one way or the other. She'll help me with non-writing creativity when I need it.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: Stairway to Heaven for reasons with which I will not bore you.
How's your memory: I have a storehouse of entirely useless information. But when I go to the grocery store, you can bet I won't come home with the one I item I went to buy. I get easily distracted... oh look. A chicken!
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Car. I can make a sloth look like an olympic sprinter.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: Damn you effect/affect!!! I do anything I can to avoid using them.
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up:
What I'm sure you're thinking now:
You're welcome

What is your Creativity Goal this year: Finish up my WIPs and find new fandoms to write in
What is your goal this year beyond that: Get my migraines even more under control. Re-connect with my son. Visit my family in other states again soon. South Dakota, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas. Travel to Ireland and Japan at some point before I die. Finish at least one of the originals I’ve been working on half my life that would be approximately 3 novels each.
Where in the world are you: Missouri, US
Current Fandom(s): Mostly Naruto, but I’ve dabbled in a few others
Earlier/old Fandom(s): Naruto, Vampire Knight, Star Trek, Buffy, Teen Wolf
Do you Original fic? Read and Write, but have never posted any original of mine
Favorite comm(s): I’ve been MIA from LJ for a couple years now due to health and personal issues, so OMW is all I’m active in at the moment. I was active in NarutoYaoi before that.
Gen, Het, or Slash: M Slash/Yaoi and some Gen
Languages you write in: Sadly, I’m not even bilingual. I did have one story translated to Russian which was pretty cool. Was funny, they had trouble translated ‘he slid into a boneless heap on the floor’. It was the lack of bones when obviously that wasn’t physically possible that threw the fan who was translating it. English is a funny language if you think about it.
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: Serenity, The Croods, Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, stuff like that; because they make me laugh.
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Comedy, SciFi, Fantasy, Crime Drama, World History/Culture documentaries,
What inspires you? It could be anything: a song, a phrase, an image, an odd thought, etc. I’m pretty random.
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: Crafting, some wood working, re-purposing things, etc.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: I used to be able to draw and paint, but I got away from that and it’s a skill I’ve lost. I miss it.
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: Due to my migraines, I can’t have anything but water and juice. Sugar has always made me very ‘up’, so juice has become a writing drink for me.
Tell us about your Pet(s): I had the most awesome, sweet, majestic boxer ever. I really do mean ever. He passed away 2 years ago last June. He was 14 years old. That’s old for a big dog. He was my best friend, my baby, king of the house; we worshiped him and he was the perfect dog. I miss him like it was just the day he left me. It’s like a hole in my chest that never fills in. I was blessed to have him and could only try to be worthy of his love. (Sorry for the sadness, but it’s the truth.) I am not ready for another pet. I’ve gotten pets too soon after a special one was lost and it never went well for me or the pet. I always ended up finding them a home where they would be better loved. No matter how special those lost pets were, none meant to me what my baby-dog did. Fairyniamh can back me up on this.
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? Fairyniamh is the only person who has ever encouraged me to write. My husband encourages me to do wood working though.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: If You Get There Before I Do – It makes me think of the kind of love my grandparents had and I always cry when I think of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9Zbp5Ml4kU
How's your memory: When it comes to work, like a steel trap. When it comes to personal, what was I talking about?
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Depends on the weather, which in Missouri means – car. It’s either disgustingly humid or like today 13 degrees with a 10 degree wind chill.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: Hmm, I don’t have a lot of trouble with words, but I am the comma splice queen….

Date: 2016-01-10 04:48 am (UTC)And do join in with our original fic posts - we're hoping to get a regular post up and running again soon; I know I'm in a similar boat in that I have several half-written novels that really need work!

Date: 2016-01-10 02:07 am (UTC)LJ age: Right around five years....wow.
What is your Creativity Goal this year: To branch out into more varied kinds of writing, and to play with some interactive fiction. Also to write original stuff and non-fiction (i.e. try to get some web/magazine articles posted).
What is your goal this year beyond that: To run a half marathon in March. I'm not a great runner, and only started in June. It's been inspiring to find I can run at all, and to feel the progress - better breathing, more stamina, being able to run six miles instead of only a tenth of a mile. Today I ran a 10k and, well, it does kind of hurt, lol...but it's a good hurt.
Where in the world are you: NYC
Current Fandom(s): H50 (for writing and for watching the scenery, mostly, the show itself is losing me) SPN (mostly for the scenery), Suits (ditto), Sense8. Liking Jessica Jones but feeling no need to write fic for it.
Earlier/old Fandom(s): Fringe, LOST
Do you Original fic? Some- need to get back to it. Said that last year, too. ;)
Favorite comm(s): This one! Don't really need another.
Gen, Het, or Slash: Slash
Languages you write in:English
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: Oh, gosh...a lot of them. Old school: Casablanca - it's got it all; drama, big stakes world issues, drama, romance. More recent: Love the new Trek movies and also a Star Wars fan, loved the new one.
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Sci-fi and Sci-fantasy shows, dramas with strong characters, shows with a very different take on things (did anyone watch Awake? Bummed that one didn't make it).
What inspires you? Nature. The chance to go places and see new things, when I can.
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: Hmmm...I don't think anything creative comes easy to me. ;). But I guess I write better than I draw or make digital artwork, so I'll go with that.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: I wish I could draw much, much better than I can.
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: Used to be coffee but transitioning to tea. Gave up soda for water.
Tell us about your Pet(s): The icon is my Eeeva. Named for the robot in Wall-e. ;)
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? My sister and a friend of mine do, yes - though neither is into fanfic or writing fiction at all - but they're positive and encouraging about it. Another friend is less so, and so I'm at the point where I won't be bringing it up again.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby:Not a song, so much. There's a scene in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind that makes me cry because it reminds me of a sudden loss of a friend. And there's E.T., - Eliot losing it as E.T. dies turns me into a frigging puddle.
How's your memory: About events and such, it's really good! Tell me something you want me to remember and ask me about it two years later, and I'll have it for you, no prob. I suppose it's useful, but I'm not sure *how* useful, lol.
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Walk and jog. No car. Not looking forward to needing to own a car again someday.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: Ha. Sigh. It's so inconvenient, but I have a real mental block about canon vs. cannon. And it's not really that difficult, is it? But I do mix them up on a regular basis.
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up: I guess... I can be a little obtuse at times....

Date: 2016-01-10 03:38 am (UTC)How's the tea-transitioning going for you? Unfortunately I got back into the coffee habit while staying with my mum over the holidays, so the timer has been reset.
Ahh, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind! Damn, I totally forgot to get my DVD back from my friend when I was there! I'm sorry it brings up painful memories for you though.
Also kudos to you for attempting a marathon!

What is your goal this year beyond that: I want to complete a ten minute play just to see if I can do it.
Where in the world are you: I live in Pennsylvania which is on the East Coast of the USA
Current Fandom(s): Sherlock, Elementary, Supergirl and The Flash
Earlier/old Fandom(s): H50, Veronica Mars, Buffy and Angel
Do you Original fic? I’m working on writing a play
Favorite comm(s): I love my Sherlock comms, and of course 1 million words
Gen, Het, or Slash: I love all three for completely different reasons
Languages you write in: Only English, but I wish I was multi-lingual
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: The Avengers—I could listen to Tom Hiddelston recite the phonebook and find it soothing
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): I love mystery shows, action/adventure and I adore musicals
What inspires you? Great actors making interesting characters come alive and breathe life into plots
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: I’m attempting to improve my writing, so I need to admit to not finding it easy at all—heck, I struggle with drabbles.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: Making characters’ dialogue sound natural
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: I like coffee (mocha lattes), Pepsi, ice tea and an occasional beer
Tell us about your Pet(s): I currently do not have a pet but I adored my dog Candy and my guinea pig Wilbur
Do your friends/family encourage you to create?Yes, my mom reads anything I write and my friend newbatgirl has been my beta for years
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby:”Somewhere There’s a Place for Us” from West Side Story
How's your memory: its okay, but I do have my moments at forgetting names—YIKES!
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: I do need to walk more—maybe in the spring—and I love my car
I don't think that word means what you think it means: Man, but I do love a good Princess Bride reference
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up:Just that I love being here and you all inspire me to do better—thanks!

Date: 2016-01-10 06:02 am (UTC)LJ age: This one will turn nine in a few days, but I had one before, so... Ten? Yeah, must be ten. OMG XD.
What is your Creativity Goal this year: Procrastinate less, haha. Definitely procrastinate less. And I think I'm going for 80k words or something? GOOD THAT I CANNOT EVEN REMEMBER ON DAY TEN XD.
What is your goal this year beyond that: Make LOTS of progress with my singing (I study voice, so it's important :D) and have the time of my life with my bestie when I visit her in the States in summer! <33333
Where in the world are you: Vienna and Innsbruck, Austria
Current Fandom(s): Harry Potter, A Song Of Ice And Fire, Addams Family 1964, The Mummy Returns, James Bond (Craig movies), Memoirs Of A Geisha... And Cracks and Rebecca (Daphne du Maurier), too, but those are not super intense currently.
Earlier/old Fandom(s): Gilmore Girls, Charmed
Do you Original fic? I tried to once... It didn't end well lol.
Favorite comm(s):
Gen, Het, or Slash: Het, Femmeslash and Gen!
Languages you write in: English (it's been pretty much exactly five years since I switched from writing in my native language German to English and I never went back! So technically I could say English and German both despite it only being English these days? xD)
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: Oh God, too many.WAY TOO MANY. Memoirs Of A Geisha because it's beautiful and gorgoeus and inspiring. The Mummy Returns because it gives me such a bunch of feels that I get into the perfect mood to write and to just dwell in lots of feels! Casino Royale and the other Craig Bonds for the same reason! And of course, all the Harry Potters because they're just the best <333.
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Drama and Period Movies/Shows!
What inspires you? Everythign can inspire me, really. But it's a lot of opera and theatre - I do often go to the opera/the theatr ein general and oH GOD I GET SO MANY IDEAS FOR MY FICS. And certain music in general, certain poems, movies... I get quite easily inspired - and of course it mostly happens when I have NO opportunity to write at all and not when I desperately require to :P
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: Write in a hurry and/or hurried panic. Generally, writing seems to be going faster and faster the more I do it! Oh, and graphics. I'm pretty good with graphics (except icons which I HATE), actually! AND FAAAAANMIXES. They always take me ages and huge effort, but I love fanmixing so much.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: Drawing, perhaps? I cannot draw to save my life and I am in awe of everyone who is good at it! It will never happen probably, but detail xD. AND OH MY GOD, FINDING TITLES AND SUMMARIES FOR MY FICS. WORST. THING. EVER. And perhaps being less intimidated by writing new fandoms and characters, because my first fics take me CENTURIES.
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: TEA, JUICE AND WATER <3.
Tell us about your Pet(s): I don't have any unfortunately :((
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? Yes! They certainly do! :D I've had my mum beta some of my
less angsty messed-upfics when I still wrote them in German, and she always totally encourages me to write.Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: Braille - Regina Spektor (and Lady. And Samson.)
How's your memory: Awesome! I can remember lots of things even if they happened or were told to me ages ago... But then I totaly forget what I had for dinner or just wanted to say two minutes ago lol.
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Public transport and walk! (And car if I'm with my parents xD.)
I don't think that word means what you think it means: OMG, there are a few words that I ALWAYS typo but of course I cannot think of any right now... And of course I do have my certain (probably hilarious) ESL moments too :P

What is your Creativity Goal this year: To meet and/or exceed my 2015 word count of 150k+.
What is your goal this year beyond that: To make friends with a crow. Legit. There's really nothing else. Make it through the year, I guess.
Where in the world are you: Alberta, Canada.
Current Fandom(s): Teen Wolf is the big one. I'm sort of on the fringes of/mostly only watch Jessica Jones, Bob's Burgers, 2 Broke Girls, Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Code Black, L&O:SVU, The Flash, Arrow, Outlander, Elementary, a bunch of other shows.
Earlier/old Fandom(s): BtVS, Lost, Queer as Folk, Supernatural.
Do you Original fic? I have ideas but nothing that's on paper.
Favorite comm(s):
Gen, Het, or Slash: Slash mainly but I'll write anything I have inspiration for.
Languages you write in: English, or a close facsimile of it.
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: The Mummy, Hot Fuzz, Speed, Terminator 2, The Breakfast Club, Independence Day-- I don't have a reason why for them except they're all movies I know SO WELL I recite the lines along with the characters. They're like comfort food.
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Usually bad horror or shitty teen. I like my share of "good" shows, too, but I have such a soft spot for the B movies on Netflix.
What inspires you? I wish I knew! Beyond the fandoms I'm in my inspiration is very random and abrupt. Sometimes it's a picture, or a phrase or a song lyric. Sometimes it's trying to fill in a blank in an episode. I really can't pin it down.
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: Graphics.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: Longer fics or ones with multiple parts, particularly with staying on task and having an outline/sticking to it.
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: I like water for the most part but when I drink pop it's usually diet pepsi. But I'm generally a water girl.
Tell us about your Pet(s): I have a cat named Gracie and a dog named Coconut. They're pretty damn cute (http://i.imgur.com/oEJNb6Z.jpg).
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? I don't generally talk about anything internet-based or my writing or anything to that effect with many people. Next to none, really. I don't feel the need to show them and I would have to explain the whole internet/fanfic/fandom thing to them to an extent. It's not that anyone would judge me and my mom knows, to a point, about how involved with the "internet" that I am but I don't discuss my activities with her. My extended family don't get the idea of friends and a life on the internet, as I've learned from conversations about going to conventions and the like with them. My friends either vaguely know or not at all and I'm cool with that. When I shared a fandom with a couple of them they knew I wrote and made graphics and how extensive my involvement was but we never really talked about it.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: None? Depends on my mood if anything makes me cry, really. I mean, a commercial can do it at the right time but I have to already be emotional for something to set me off, especially music.
How's your memory: Short term is getting worse with age. There's a lot of things I have on the go at work and things I just remember that should probably be written down somewhere or put in a calendar in case I ever get hit by a bus. But I'll get up to do something, take two steps and be totally lost as to where I'm going or why.
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Car, by force. I want to get into a better walking routine and slowly take up running this year, though.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: I have trouble typing "prairie" (but I can write it just fine) which is inconvenient because I use it a lot at work. Also fuel is one I ALWAYS type wrong at first.
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up:
Basically:

Date: 2016-01-10 07:22 pm (UTC)Quite the best way to explain it. There's no reason I should like HALF the movies I like, but I've seen them so many times that they're like a member of the family. :D

What is your goal this year beyond that: Become more healthy, travel to Hawaii!
Where in the world are you: Massachusetts, USA
Current Fandom(s): H50, Star Trek AOS, Teen wolf, Inception, it goes on.
Earlier/old Fandom(s): Torchwood, Boondock Saints, BHD, and the list really goes on.
Do you Original fic? On occasion
Favorite comm(s): There are other comms? Nobody told me this!!!
Gen, Het, or Slash: Slash, Gen, Het, in that order. Can't manage to write f/f slash yet.
Languages you write in: English
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: I watch everything over and over again. No tv reception so it's all stuff on dvd. CSI, Star Trek AOS, Teen Wolf, Harry Potter.
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): I am all over the place, I like period stuff, war stuff, westerns, action, drama, chick flicks, just about anything except horror.
What inspires you? Everything. I can get inspired by a conversation, nature, movies, books, music, pinterest.
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: Knitting comes very easy, and writing comes easy with small scenes of fan fiction.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: Entire books of original fiction.
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: Coffee, diet pepsi, water, juice. In that order.
Tell us about your Pet(s): Eggs is a Clumber Spaniel. He is my dookey sidekick. He sheds, drools, and most adorably snores. Both of us love hopping into my dookey car and driving around.
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? Yes, although my father's wife needs to stop telling me to write about the horrible people we know. But everyone who knows I write is 100% behind me.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: Rainbow Connection. They played it when Jim Henson dies. Makes me bawl to think about all the wonders he'd have created with more time.
How's your memory: Like a steel sieve! Only the big stuff stays, all the fluid stuff leaks out except what sticks near the wholes then rusts and flakes.
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Car. I love my dookey car.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: I'm always ... salt and shaker peppers. In fact I say 'saltandshakerpeppers' when ever I realize that I've changed the order of words in a common phrase.
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up: I can't be summed up in eight words! ;)

Earlier/old Fandom(s): seaQuest DSV, Doctor Who, Tin Man, CSI, Stargate, Farscape, WWE, NCIS, Star Wars, Top Gear, Remember WENN

Favorite comm(s): 1MW, gameofcards, hogwartsishome, free20in20
Gen, Het, or Slash: depends on the situation, but generally somewhere between gen&het
Languages you write in: English and HTML
Favorite 'go to' movie(s) and why: Back to the Beach, because it's perfect in every way. Frankie & Annette, Dick Dale with hair, and complete silliness, right down to Gilligan ; Clue, because Tim Curry is a god. ; The Lion King, because it's better Hamlet than Hamlet.
Favorite movie/TV show genre(s): Sci-fi, action, cooking

What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: stock icons, coloring, making fleece blankets
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: drawing, sewing, complicated icons, fully-fleshing out original stories, cooking
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: PEPSI. Also unsweet iced tea. But mostly PEPSI. And Earl Gray (or regular black oolong), hot. Pepsi. Tequila. Did I mention Pepsi?
Tell us about your Pet(s): Because answering "I have a brother" gets me in trouble with mom... my pets are my OCs and my RP characters. Also, my World of Warcraft characters. They don't eat much and can mostly fend for themselves.
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? Friends, yes -
and about 20% of those have been forced on each other, whether we like it or notLOL ; family not really. My parents did get me a new sewing machine for Christmas, but I can't imagine they'll be too impressed with whatever I end up making with it.Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: probably Endless Night from the Broadway cast of The Lion King. Movies have a better chance of making me cry, truth be told....
How's your memory: uh.... it's okay. I think? I know what I had for lunch, if that's what you mean. :p
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Car and walk -- I'm not really in a part of town that's bicycle-friendly. And I have asthma, so jogging is a great big NO. I get winded just taking the stairs.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: anything said to my not-boss. He seems to think I have nothing to do in the office but HIS work.

Gen, Het, or Slash: Yes please.
Languages you write in: English, barely.

Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: JAWS. As for the Why... There's only so many words allowed in a comment. I'll just state that it is an awesome movie and I have loved it since I saw it in the theatre (First run baby! I. Am. Old.) when I was 9 years old.
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Sci-fi, drama. sometimes comedy if it's not full of stupidness, which most comedies nowadays are.

Date: 2016-01-11 03:21 pm (UTC)I went to see Jaws, first run, we saw it at the crappy theater in Plaistow, NH (big time glamorous). It made me afraid to use the toilet. I could swim in the pool, it wasn't connected, but the toilet was connected. ;)
But my point was, you aren't that old.

Date: 2016-01-11 02:56 am (UTC)LJ age: How long have you been on LJ? Four years in this current reincarnation, much longer than I care to think about, otherwise.
What is your Creativity Goal this year: To muck the 4 WIPs from the woodshed of my skull
What is your goal this year beyond that: To muck out 20 years of accumulated cr** in the shoebox I continue to euphemistically call a house.
Where in the world are you: the great country known as Texas.
Current Fandom(s): My muse does not allow me choice in these matters, though I keep meandering through Avengers, Hawaii 5-0, and more RPF than I care to think about.
Earlier/old Fandom(s): I started out in the Duran Duran bandom. Yes, I know. Let's move along, shall we?
Do you Original fic? I have often been accused of writing original fic masquerading as fanfic. Does that count?
Favorite comm(s): Of couse not! You are my one true love.
Gen, Het, or Slash: Again, I am not allowed free choice in these matters.
Languages you write in: Grammaticially correct Texan. (And yes, my beta is Australian)
Favourite 'go to' movie(s) and why: Star Trek Reboot, Bad Boys, the Killers, Evita, and Jesus Christ Superstar. All I want is for Michael Bay to make a musical--is that really too much to ask?
Favourite movie/TV show genre(s): Bullets, explosions, badly written exposition, and general mayhem and/or car chases.
What inspires you? Strange and inexplicable things, apparently.
What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: Its not so much creativity, as a general lack of the ability to tell my muse 'no'
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: Telling my muse 'no'?
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: Coffee, Mountain Dew, Iced Coffee, Orange Juice with Mountain Dew, more Coffee.
Tell us about your Pet(s): One neurotic husky, 1 higher life form cat, 1 lower life form cat, 1 transpecies (he maybe a cat or dog, he is undecided) and one currently hibernating tortoise.
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? I have found it is best to keep my muse far, far away from friends and family - it tends to do things like hump legs at wildly inappropriate moments.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: Emo Civil War songs, and apparently Hamilton. Damn you, Lin-Manuel.
How's your memory: Like a goldfish, an elephant or somewhere in between? My memory definitely functions very much like a scansoriopterygid.
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: How lazy are you? I am one of those weird individuals who walks to work.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: apparently the English language has significantly less prepositions than Texan, a fact which my beta is constantly pointing out.
And lastly, anything else you want to say, or finish with a gif that sums you up: To quote the Shoveler, 'We have date with destiny, and she has ordered the lobster.'

Date: 2016-01-11 03:08 pm (UTC)Oh man, RPF. I miss RPF, I need to get back to that. GO YOU!
re: cats - A friend was telling me that she watched a docu about cats and dogs and found out that dogs can tell that humans are not the same species, but that cats think we are just big stupid cats, and that they verbalize to us the same way they do to kittens (small stupid cats). They think dogs are big stupid cats too. They could be right.

What type of creative project(s) do you find you can do easily: writing oneshots, especially if I start the second I get inspired.
What type of creative project(s) would you like to get better at: Finishing long fics and original stories.
Coffee, Pepsi, tea, Coke, water, juice, vodka: Tea!
Tell us about your Pet(s): None, unfortunately, although I want a cat.
Do your friends/family encourage you to create? Some of them. I don't talk much about writing to my RL friends cause then they will ask about what I will write and well, awkward, cause all of my stories are slash.
Name a song that always makes you cry like a baby: I can't think of one right now, probably because I just woke up.
How's your memory: It is good for everything except memorising school-related things...
Walk, jog, bicycle, car: Walk.
I don't think that word means what you think it means: Oh, God...I can't think of anything right now but I have a lot of words that I always type wrong at first. Oh, 'especially'. Sometimes I get it so wrong that my autocorrect doesn't know how to fix it. :P Perks of having English as your second language, I guess. Also, a Korean name. I keep switching from Jungkook to Jeongguk in the same paragraph. (Both are correct but I should just stick to one.)

Do your friends/family encourage you to create? One person in particular (he knows who he is) encourages me a lot. My family don't know I write.
