RARE PAIR CHALLENGE!!!

So I'm late, but... IT'S RARE PAIR MONTH!!!

*dance of joy* *dance of joy* *dance of joy*

I do love the idea of rare pairs. It's one of my fav things! The problem I find is that some pairs occur to be by the way the writers write them in canon or the way they snark. But a lot of others just don't occur to me. I'm just conditioned that when I think Inception I think Arthur/Eames and Yusuf/Mal never crosses my mind. It happens with every fandom I play in. I just can't see beyond my nose until someone adjusts my glasses.

So let's chat for a bit about fandoms and rare pairs. Leave a suggestion of a rare pair from a fandom or seven, leave a suggestion of a scenario, leave a prompt, leave an image.

Also - This year let's not define rare pairs as what is rare to fandom, but what is rare for you. If you've always shipped Stiles/Allison take a stab at something different for you!

The challenges can be met with written words (min of 1,000) or graphic words (min 5 icons). OR in the spirit of rare pairs, you could work together with someone you've never worked with and give us something twice as nice!

So hmmm... if it's rare to ME then it still counts? That opens the possibilities, I think. I don't write in many fandoms so I'll have to think on this a bit.

Also, at the grocery store on Saturday, my 15-year-old was talking about the last episode of the most recent season of The Vampire Diaries and how they killed off someone. My husband, not an outward shipper, didn't understand her angst and then the kid says, "THEY WERE MY OTP!" and I stumbled and walked right into the dairy case. HAH.

It really is! On one hand, I want to applaud her taste and on the other, I fear for what she might not be telling me. She'll be 16 in February, so none of this really ought to surprise me, but it did.

My 10 yr old has talked about how she ships a certain pairing from Harry Potter. hahaha, it killed me. She also draws Harry Potter fan art.

This is so cool! Wouldn't it be a kick in the pants if you know your kid online through ficdom and yet don't realize it's her? I love getting together with writers in person, and yet it so rarely happens!

OMG, maybe once I got past the utter humiliation of it all? But it's not likely, we're not in the same fandoms for the most part. But I hear you - I know of no one in my real life that writes or even really creates in any manner. It's sad. :/ HOORAY FOR THE INTERNET!

Thank you. They're two of our real life babies -- blood brothers, believe it or not. We lost Medes at far too young an age, unfortunately, but we've still got the cute "Lion Cub" Siamese, Elliot, and pray to have him for many, many more years to come.;

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear you lost him so young. We lost our cat, Alfie last year. He was just barely two and had only been with us for a year. It's hard. *hugs* But I'm glad that you still have Elliot around to keep you on your toes. :)

He's cute. My Queen, who passed a couple of years ago at almost 21 years of age and as glorious as ever, used to love to lay on her grandfather's big sombrero on top of the fridge.
