Thank you all once again for taking part in our October/November long challenge 5+1. It’s come to an end as of today, and as per usual, I cannot believe how quickly November has gone by!

So, the desert is bringing the weather vibes for Halloween tomorrow. Went from being warm to pleasantly cool to WOAH, I need a jacket. Haha. Hope that wherever you are, your weather is treating you well.

As you have probably guessed by now, I forgot that it was my turn this week and we are therefore behind schedule. One of these days, my memory will hold and I won't forget.

Monday hits us all again eventually! And I have to say I've had a pretty good one. I work at home on Mondays (and Thursdays & Fridays! :), lucky me!), so that is always a good way to start the week! I do a leisurely commute downstairs and 1 minute later, sign into my work laptop! I love it! It's great since driving or catching the train to work at the office these days looks more like an hour each way! This morning I didn't have too much to do, and this afternoon I was busy with spreadsheets and a meeting, and they both went well, so I have no complaints. Now I am happily sitting in my comfy lounge communing with my favourite comm, so life is good!

How are you all doing? Did your Monday kick off well, if it's underway, or what are you planning for it, if it's just beginning or still a few hours off?

Here at the comm, I need YOUR HELP! We are still on less than 3 million words for 2023, so PLEASE if you haven't updated your counts in a while, go in and DO IT NOW! Never mind that Oct. is only halfway through and you may not want to add this month's words yet - if you haven't put anything in for any months previous, NOW'S GOOD! Thank you! ;-)

Additionally, get your comm friends on board (old, new, haven't added words since forever, making them all the time - it's all good!)! Also, take this as a time to renew your commitment to yourself as well as the comm - I WILL MAKE MORE WORDS THIS MONTH! I intend to do so, and I'd love it if you would too! I believe we can still hit 5 MILL for 2023, so let's make it happen! Thank you for listening, this PSA is now complete! LOL.

Plans for the rest of the week? Well, I have some fun things lined up for the weekend: On Friday, it's The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Auckland home of the movie for many years in the 70-80s, called the 'Hollywood Cinema'; Saturday I have my primary school's 150th anniversary celebrations (suffice to say it turned 100 while I attended there... my God, I feel old!), and then our local playhouse is putting on Sweeney Todd so that's where I'll be Sat. night; Sunday it's the Auckland Zoo to help my animal-mad daughter celebrate her 25th birthday. PHEW! By Monday, which is the LABOUR DAY holiday here in NZ, I will need a rest! I'm going to try using at least some of the day to create SOMETHING I CAN COUNT HERE!

I will sign off now, and please excuse all my CAPS! I am feeling ENTHUSIASTIC, so I'm expressing myself! LOL and *rolls eyes at self* in old-fashioned LJ speak! ;-)

Hello and welcome to the new long challenge: 5 + 1. This will run from today (October 16) through to November 30.

Myself and

flipflop_diva are going to try to post regular prompts and whenever you see one that you like, then you can begin creating. The rules are simple:

* Fics should be at least 1,000 words long, but if you prefer to do drabbles then just do the right number to bring it up to the minimum;

* If you choose to do graphics instead, then there should be at least 2 little graphics (icons, etc) per each of the 5 + 1 things. For bigger graphics such as wallpapers and fic banner, then just one graphics per each of the 5 + 1 things;

* Feel free to tweak the prompts in whatever way works for you and/or if you have an idea you want to share or work on, then please feel free;

* I’ll post a prompt submission post so if you have any that you wish to share, drop them there and I will add them as soon as I can;

* Participation banners will be made for anyone who completes the minimum requirements and, if you let us know your fandom of choice/OTP, we'll try to include them in the banner.

Once you’ve completed your fic or graphics, just drop a link here as a comment as it makes it easier for us to keep track.

OK, so it's Tuesday here, but as it's still Monday in most places, I'm doing good!

I'm away from home with the family for a couple of days as we here in NZ have no community transmission of the dreaded c-word and are allowed to travel domestically. It's a short winter break for us, and tourism dollars down, the wonderous Waitomo Caves are today's adventure. Look them up if you need to know more as I'm typing this one-fingered on my phone with the barest thread of 4G connection in the middle of nowhere!

So, you should be approaching 45% on your Big Buddy! I hope it's going brilliantly for you and you are charging through the words!
