It's a favorite romantic trope- one lover dreaming of the other, or watching them sleep as they lay away or sit vigil by their side in a crisis. Whatever the twist, the challenge this Really Random is to write us some dreamy, sleepy love.

Some song prompts that might help:

Good luck!

Anyone who knows me knows that I'm an absolute sap and a sucker for a love story. Which probably explains my love of country music, too, but we'll explore that later.

For today's really random promps, I found a book title generator and thought I'd randomize some silly romance novel titles for you.

Love and Leather
Temptation of the Knight
Wild and Wicked
Dream on Fire
Spare Parts
Nutty and Nice
Ceasefire of Hostility

Hopefully these spur something in you.  Two of these made me laugh and think, "Hmm... I can see this with..."
[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com
And even more random than doing this on a Friday is that I think I missed the first half of the month?

Anyway!

So, I'm in a mood and when I went looking for random prompt/idea generators, I found one for POISONS! Handy, hmmm?

Poison 1
A non-lethal poison.

A white, odorless, tasteless paste that is completely undetectable within other substances. It causes an increasing series of problems. It primarily affects the blood, and causes hypertension, and later, hyperthermia.

Poison 2
A non-lethal poison.

A brown, weak-smelling, tasteless paste that is difficult to detect within other substances. It quickly causes damage. It primarily targets the nervous system, and affects the bones, and causes seizures.

Poison 3
A lethal poison.

An indigo, odorless, earthy liquid that is difficult to detect within other substances. It kills slowly. It primarily weakens the cardiovascular system, and targets the kidneys, and causes frenzied behaviour.

Poison 4
A lethal poison.

A colourless, odorless, sour gel that can be disguised within other substances. It causes a rapid, painful death. It primarily affects the kidneys, and targets cells, and causes difficulty swallowing, and extremely affectionate behaviour.

Poison 5
A lethal poison.

A red, odorless gas that is completely undetectable within other substances. It goes unnoticed until it passes a dose threshold; severe damage follows, and sometimes, death. It primarily targets the muscles, and weakens cells, and causes sleep apnoea, and later, rashes.

Lastly, when searching for randomizers, I found THIS.  All I can say is that as a cat lover, I might not ever get off this tab.

Have fun and try not to poison anyone in real life, mmkay?

Well, look at that, it’s Monday again!  How was your weekend?  Mine was a lot of fun for once.  Brad Paisley was hilarious, as expected, and my kid and I had a good time.  She and her sister also decided to go whole hog and start their Christmas decorating.  *sigh*

Not much exciting happening on this end of the world.  My boss did randomly buy tickets for my daughter and I to see Brad Paisley though, so that will be my Friday night.  Ought to be a fun night out for us.  Chime in below and let us know what kind of awesome you have planned for the week.

In these last few weeks of 2022,  [livejournal.com profile] asphaltcowgrrl and I are bringing you Really Random Tuesdays!  We figured it might be fun to go with wherever the inspiration strikes- and this week it's "Imagine Your OTP - on the Road"

Give us at least 200 words inspired by these prompts-  and/or a graphic or two - and let us celebrate your achievement here! Will provide icons or a ficlet if requested as a reward, or I will put words on a WIP.

-*-

The prompts are:

- Halfway through a very long flight
- Accidentally booked dream cruise on a singles-only voyage
- Stuck at the airport
- Homesick
- Never want to go home again!
- Arriving home - tempted to just burn the suitcases, slowly returning back to real life
- Fluff: Dream trip goes....well, absolutely perfectly, actually

Good luck!

And I knew there was a reason why I should have just begged off doing anything in December.  *sigh* I'm sorry y'all, I dropped the ball on this.

I'm going to try and make up by giving you a few things to have fun with.

Random prompt: construction

(I just read my sign and I'm dying... Zayne does it to me again.  Also, it makes me wonder... nah.)

Random quote: “You live in a daily dreamworld,” he said, which ruffled her feathers. “In your world, you design the rules, and the dialogue, and everyone is what you think they are because you design them. Reality isn’t that way.” - The Last to See Her by Courtney Evan Tate

My current musical obsession:

Hopefully you can all find something to inspire you here today!

Apologies for the exceedingly late, should-have-been Tuesday dose of randomness. This week, the creative chaos comes from an artificial intelligence bot!

It's called 6b.eleuther.ai and it is a "six billion parameter, autoregressive text generation model."

Enter some text, and it'll take it from there- writing a prose that sometimes sounds like poetry, other times like gibberish, and some offerings that sound so writerly that at first I thought it was pulling up book excerpts via google. It's not, however - it's actually writing.

I've seen it on Tumblr quite a bit this week - fandom folks entering their favorite character dialogue and/or character names, and seeing what the A.I. is inspired to give them back.

So today's really random is self-powered and very 21st Century. Give it a try- who knows what fic the AI's prompts may inspire?

Happy Monday!  If you’re here in the US, this is Thanksgiving week and I hope that you all have something to be thankful for this year.  November and December are tough months for me, but I have so much more positive in my life than negative and ya gotta hold onto that, right?

Okay, so it's still Tuesday here, but ...let's call this the mid-week edition. This week, your challenge prompts are courtesy of Google's "I Feel Lucky" wheel of fortune, and Wikipedia.

Random times of day chosen by a randomizer. What is going on with your character(s) at these times? Are they together? Having some miscommunication? At cross-purposes?

The oldest-known living land animal is a tortoise named Jonathan, who is 187 years old. He was born in 1832 and has lived on the island of St. Helena in the Atlantic Ocean since 1882.

It's Tuesday or about to be, and time for some Really Random prompts! This week, I'm starting with a song that featured in my walk/jog playlist this week - and is random to me because I really never listen to these two artists. But thanks to the Spotify Daily List (awesome feature) it struck my ear as grist for some intensely yearn-y, Love-is-Messy fic.

Next up, a quote that could pair well with the above or take the muses somewhere else entirely...

And finally, a quote for fic inspiration or just a couple of goals to add to the 'to do' list. I might add the first line, at least, to mine.

“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”
― Neil Gaiman

Note: I'm an idiot.  I'm sorry.  I meant to schedule this but... *sigh*  Happy Halloween.
[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com
Late again.  *sigh*

For today's video, I'm going to channel my older child.  Which is funny because, when she was younger she was a total Belieber and HATED One Direction.  Now?  She's a Harry Styles fangirl.  Go figure.  Anyway, she was watching a 1D show on Netflix one day when I came home and this song was playing.  It's fun, catchy, and wound up on Zayne's playlist becuase it just sounds like him.

This cracked me up when I read it. I'm all for exercising and being healthy but... run?  Nah, not unless something's chasing me, boo.

d75ac86ce22c2926e343c9784da9bf48

Lastly, your book quote:

Déjà vu. Déjà su. Déjà vécu. Already seen. Already known. Already lived. - The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab
[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com
Welcome back to Tuesday!

I should have had this posted already, but I got caught up in decluttering this weekend and forgot.  *headdesk*  But, on the bright side, I have space under my sink now.

This week's song is one that came up randomly on Spotify this morning and i'd forgotten how much I love it.  Two of my favorite artists coming together to make what I feel is an anthem for my life.  "Burning Man" by Dierks Bentley with Brothers Osborne.  (Gotta love a song that mentions Joshua trees!)

And another from the Zayne Files... although, this is probably more me than it is him.

72aed5fa88c57dc598a41e8660f3ccf7

Today's quote comes from the craziest book I've reaad this year: Bath Haus by P. J. Vernon.

When it comes to lying, there’s a golden rule: tell as much truth as you can. The truth is, after all, the easiest to remember. It’s the most consistent with inarguable fact.

Have fun!  I look forward to seeing what you create from this bit of Tuesday monring chaos.

(P. S. I need a tag... don't know if I can make one myself?)
[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com
Or, if you actually know anything about me, you'd know this is a daily thing in these parts. Hahaha.

So, in honor of the changing season, thatwasjustadream had the fabulous idea of having a random prompt day every Tuesday until the end of the year.  Sound like fun?  I sure thought so.  I'm going to drop a few fun things for you today.  And just FYI: as tempted as I was to torture you with Walker Hayes' "Fancy Like", you'll have to find your own Bourbon Street Steak and Oreo Shake this week.

First, my current favorite song: "Dance with Me" by Niko Moon

Next, I have an entire Pinterest board full of pithy quips and sarcastic comebacks that I'm saving for a rainy day. A bit of potty language in today's choice.

Here, Hold My Morals

Lastly, a quote from something I read and thought was worthy of saving.

"When you know about something it stops being a nightmare. When you know how to fight something, it stops being so threatening." - Blood of Elves by Andrzej Sapkowski

I think that's enough wit and wisdom for one day. Hopefully something tickles the muse.
