I Love My Public Library!

Not just because they have an awesome collection. Or because they are awesomely helpful. Or because they're part of my school system.

But because they work really, REALLY hard to offer exciting programs for everyone. And today was their biggest, best program of the year. A full five hours of activities, at least one talk, and FOUR authors who sign books and talk to people FOR HOURS. I got to meet four very fabulous and sweet authors who spent so much time with each person, making them feel special.

That pretty much took all of my energy today... so I didn't do anything else. I did get 558 words, no story words, but comments and a long post on FB about today's events (well and yesterday). Oh and I also downloaded my entire Google Drive to attempt to sort it out and only have the things I need on it.

And for those who were waiting... I got the news from the college that they didn't accept me for the program I applied to. I'm looking at my options and I'll be applying elsewhere, but probably not to the same program.

Both of ours here do great things for the community. Book signings, author events, lots of great stuff. There's also a big book fair every year in October.

Sorry you weren't accepted, but hopefully one of your backup schools does!

Yes! I love when the library is involved with the community as it should be. Oy book fairs. We have two or three a year and they are dangerous!

Hopefully! We'll see what they say. (Which reminds me, I need to call the one and set up a meeting.)

I agree. Ours does so many things. And then the LVCC does even more since it has a bigger budget. Hahaha - ours does monthly book sales also where you can fill a grocery bag for $5.

Yeees. Ours has like 7 branches so that's super cool. And 5 are in town. They're also part of our public school system so I get to do so many things with them.

Libraries are fantastic and that sounds wonderful! So sad to hear you weren't accepted to the program you wanted. Good luck with your back-ups.

It was. I really love my library and all the programs they offer (although we won't talk about the writing group... it was... not what I expected.)

I'm sad, I'm down, but I'm not out.
