“Well damn…it’s been ages! What brings you around?” Nik laughed embracing Liam so hard that his feet lifted off the ground in the delighted spinning, Jia, too, got up from the sofa where she and Nik had been studying a large sheet of rolled paper spread out on the table before them, her expression one of surprise and delight although there was concern in her eyes that some problem within the pack had brought Liam to LaGuardia.
“News I couldn’t wait to share.” When Nik released him, Liam tumbled down onto the sofa beside Jia with a wide smile. “Where’s Addi and the others?”
“Collecting supplies…not just medicals…and probably talking medicine with Lilla. I haven’t seen him since breakfast,” Jia replied. “If you stay long enough, you’ll see him yourself.”
“Good…Trill wants him home, wants his help with Candace.” He grinned and nodded, “Yep, Kato’s come home…and he brought Candace and Eddie with him.”
Though she had not been holding her breath, a long gush of air was released from her lungs and she sank into the cushions behind her.
“She’s beat up…traumatized…could use a therapist if my mum was alive…but they’re okay. Someone called Uzzi too…and Mr. Fenway. The rest are in Kennedy, but Kato wanted to get her home…and wanted to get this to you from Oasis as fast as possible. Dunno what it says…but it’s important.”
