“So long as they support people like Donnovan…so long as they steal medical supplies and kill people…experiment on people…feed their addictions…the whole world is dangerous. LaGuardia can’t do it alone…but together…Jia thinks we have a chance.” She paused, studied the album of photos mounted upon the wall of her, her father, her mother, in bygone days when they had all been much happier, and then asked, “Do you think we have a chance?”
Aman was quiet for many minutes, remaining at the door, allowing Oasis her private thoughts as he pondered the possibilities she presented. Before her marriage to Donnovan, Kennedy and LaGuardia had rarely agreed on anything. They had never been united in their causes, in their goals. While the marriage itself might not be the unifying factor, it had placed Oasis in the unique position to form a bond with LaGuardia’s Co-Laedans that she would not otherwise have had.
“Together,” he admitted quietly, “perhaps.”
It would not be the unification Geary had intended, but it could be, Aman hoped, something better.
“See Kato off…we’ll talk more after…”

Danny flipped through the old photo album Steve had handed him, the faded images revealing glimpses of a young McGarrett.

“This is you?” Danny asked, pointing to a grinning kid in swim trunks holding a fish almost his size.

Steve leaned over, smirking. “Yep. Caught that when I was eight.”

Danny shook his head, chuckling. “Of course, you were already a mini action hero.”

Turning another page, Danny paused at a photo of Steve and his mom, both smiling brightly.

Steve’s expression softened. “That was her favorite beach.”

Danny closed the album gently. “Thanks for sharing this, Steve.”

Steve smiled. “Anytime.”
