Steve leaned against the balcony railing, staring out at the Honolulu skyline. The night was calm, a stark contrast to the whirlwind inside him. He'd had another dream about Danny. The dreams had started innocently enough, but they had grown more intense, more personal. It was as if his subconscious was urging him to confront feelings he’d kept buried.
Danny walked out onto the balcony, breaking Steve's reverie. "Hey, you alright?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.
Steve turned to face him, "I'm fine," he replied, though he knew it was a lie.
The words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken emotions. He took a deep breath, deciding it was time to stop hiding. "Danny, there's something I need to tell you."
Danny's brow furrowed. "What's going on, Steve?"
Steve stepped closer, the vulnerability in his eyes clear. "I've been having these dreams...about you. They feel so real like I'm gonna lose you if I don't say something."
Danny's eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't move away. "What do you mean?"
Steve hesitated for a moment, then continued. "I can't stop thinking about you, Danny. It's more than just friendship. I don't want to pretend anymore."
Danny's expression softened, a small smile tugging at his lips. "You know, I’ve been feeling the same way. I was just waiting for you to catch up."
