Well, I spent half the night up being sick, but still managed to get words in (despite a nap and a visit to Urgent Care and still not feeling well). Didn't really focus on anything, but finished a friend's birthday gift (which I started last year and ended up being 12 chapters), finished my grant proposal for college, did a version of the rare pair challenge, and also put a few hundred words on my current anthology story.

All told 1633 words for the day which brings me up to 9546 for the month.

I can understand it not happening. I'm visiting family. And my writing partner... so the second one is more of a working vacation.

Pretty much gone but no one had any idea what it was.

I'd like to just not... but if I didn't, I'd never get anything done. It'll be better in the new year with just one job. Or just one steady job.

That sucks, but as long as it's mostly gone, it's a good thing.

One steady job would be best. I remember when Troy worked two jobs when the girls were little, it seriously wore on him.

I have a couple of light scars still, but that's it. I actually saw the urgent care doctor who sent me to the dermatologist when I was sick this past week. She was floored that NO ONE figured out what is was.

Yeah. My last day for my part time job is tentatively December 17. I said I'd work a couple weeks in January if he still hadn't found someone, but I don't want to drag it out.

Yeah, absolutely.

It is kind of shocking sometimes that with all their training they can't figure something out. Maddie had a reaction to something when she was a few months old and the doctor couldn't figure it out either. Said it looked like a reaction to a sulfate drug - which they don't even use any longer. She was fine, but I still think about it 19 years later.

That's good! Here's to hoping they don't need you to work after that.

It really is. But I guess it's gone so hopefully it won't reoccur.

Well at this point I don't think he's even looked for anyone. I'll probably ask next week.

It really will. He was trying to convince me to come back for both days, but my feeling was if I did that, he'd never find anyone.

You're probably right. I know that when I quit my last job before I started this one, I told my boss that if it was an EMERGENCY I could come in after 4 PM and cover for him. The way the employees abused that... it was like twice a week someone wanted me to come in. Honey, I've already put in my 40 hrs, thanks.

I'm sure I am because he'd already jokinly said "You wanna sub for all of January?" so my feeling was I don't want to kids to get discouraged, but yeah one day a week is good.

I mean the extra money is nice, but the extra time and everything... yeah. Ugh that would annoy me.

They really are. I'm hoping my one kid will finish before I end up leaving because I think he'll get discouraged if I leave.

Hahaha she called and has been working the opposite nights I do, but my boss still hasn't managed to commit. (Also I totally had to google the spelling of commit because it didn't look right to me.)

So it ended up, our day school teacher decided to come in and work the night--or well most of the night so that was the decision made (I totally get it, the school is struggling so hiring someone new is kinda a non-starter). So we made the deal that I'd work one more week both days and then I'd be done.

And then I got COVID.
