I am a big fan of the Big Yin, and have a couple of books in my possession - one written by him and one written by his Kiwi wife, Pam. Give me a number between 1 and 300 and I'll check the books on the page nearest your number that has either a piece of Billy's wisdom or just something that he said that amused me, and whichever book has something good Ill give you as a prompt. Want more than one? Give me two numbers and you'll get 'em. ;-)
Have a graphic of some sort or at least 200 words written and posted by Thursday midnight your local time from a prompt, and I'll make you an icon of your choice or add 100 words to a WIP.
Come on, you know you want to! I'm off to bed now but I'll be back in the morning with your prompts!

Date: 2020-08-13 09:06 pm (UTC)“Not all the time,” Alvie replied. “Just around you. All this quarantine…so many of us being sick…hasn’t helped…”
“Is that Reni?” The boisterous voice from the other room was followed by a big man whose overall demeanor would have been intimidating if not for the grin on his handsome face. Ricardo Royo was a few years older than the Silva or Garza boys but he had been known to frequently hang around with them, their mentor, in some ways, in all sorts of mischief, in the supply of alcohol and condoms, the chauffer to their adventures before any of them could drive…and thus having taught each of four how. He often served as Pride muscle when the need for such came up, but he was, usually, too laid back to have any desire to lead the Pride. He was much more interested in the cultivation of his marijuana crop in the grow trailer that had traveled with them from place to place.
Though Ren had not seen it upon arrival, he imagined some little corner of the Pride acreage had been set aside and prepared for a future grow once the soil and irrigation system were to Ricky’s liking.
Axel followed him from the kitchen as Ren expected, wiping his hands on a dishtowel, smiling when he saw his boyhood friend in the open living room that looked more like a community meeting hall than it did a living room. Only the overflowing box of toys in one corner and Yasmin’s piano on one side gave the room a homey feel.
“Bout time you dragged your ugly self back here…” He flipped the towel across his shoulder, embraced Ren, and clapped him on the back.
“You looked in a mirror lately?” Ren countered.
“Every day. Ricky, bring us some beers, will you.”
“Sure, Chief.” He wasn’t the Pride’s Felix, but he did often serve as the Rex’s right hand, particularly when Alvie was prone to gallivanting.
“Sit…tell me what you’ve been doing with yourself.”
He straddled the closest bench with a noncommittal shrug. “Woodworking…seeing the sights…nothing new…stayin’ alive…”
“Bumming it on the beach,” snickered Alvie, scooting chairs around so that he could sit on one and prop his feet on another.
Ren made a face. “Fell asleep watching the surf…” He didn’t want to talk about why he was on the beach, but sooner or later Axel and Alvie would drag it out of him.
“Trouble with that new Companion of his…”
“Gonna break that nose with your mouth,” Ren growled in annoyance.
“You like this face too much to wreck it,” laughed Alvie.
“Try me.”

187 is: The headmistress had paintings of hell on her walls. They were probably illustrations from Dante's Inferno, but back then I assumed they were her summer holiday photos.

Date: 2019-12-28 11:12 am (UTC)Certainly! This is a wee snippet of Billy's from a conversation about paintings he was looking at with a friend, but I thought this line sounded prompt-worthy: He's definitely spotted boys stealing apples off his tree. What a horrible-looking guy. Later he says of the same portrait: Definitely looks like a liar to me.
Hope that inspires something!
