Veronica's fingers traced intricate patterns on his chest. "I know, but we grew as people apart. And I think we matured, and we're at a point where we can be open and honest with each other without those type of ramifications."

Logan sighed. "You might not like what I say."

"Then we'll deal. No more running away. I promise."

"Okay. You want to know how I decided to be in the Air Force? After you left, I completely spiraled out of control…"
