12 Days of WIPness anyone?

I know I'm late, with everything this year. But are you folks interested in doing the 12 days this year? It would need to start on Wednesday.



12 Days of WIPness

If you have a WIP that you think you can get finished up in 1,000 or fewer words and you want to try and crank it out for the end of the year and finish with more words to count, then HAVE I GOT A PLAN FOR YOU!

The Twelve Days of WIPness

- On the first day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: A Wip and a plan to finish it ASAP. (Dec 20th)
- On the second day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: One hundred words (Dec 21)
- On the third day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: One hundred fifty words (Dec 22)
- On the fourth day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: Two hundred words (Dec 23)
- On the fifth day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: THREE HUNDRED WORDS! (Dec 24)
- On the sixth day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: One hundred fifty words (Dec 25)
- On the seventh day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: One hundred words (Dec 26)
- On the eighth day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: Finished rough draft (Dec 27)
- On the ninth day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: Submission WIPness beta (Dec 28)
- On the tenth day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: Beta reading someone’s WIP (Dec 29)
- On the eleventh day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: Tweaking the returned from beta WIP (Dec 30)
- On the twelfth day of Wipness my wordies gave to me: A finished and posted WIP. (Dec 31)

It's an ambitious plan, but we've done it before. WE CAN DO THIS! Feel free to switch around the numbers to suit your schedule. And it does leave beta readers little time, so if you have a large piece that you are just putting finishing touches on, maybe get what you have to your reader before the 20th, and if you are able to read a 2K fic on the 29th that would be fantastic too! I'll post a sign up post when we get going.

I was listening to Garth Brooks talking on the radio the other day and he said that for a song writer a blank page was a gift. I was like WHO ARE YOU? BLANK PAGES ARE INTIMIDATING! But then, Garth's weird to begin with.

I love Tim and my husband loves Faith, so it works out well for us. I can see him getting his own station though. Just as long as he doesn't go off the deep end, I'd be good. I'll put on No Shoes Radio sometimes and do a double take, thinking, "Kenny, WHY?"

And I don't know if you've even heard of him, but there's a new guy named Walker Hayes and on his CD there is a song called "Shut Up, Kenny" and it cracks me up every time I hear it.

YES! I have a big bang that I'm only about 2k into. Not sure if I can finish it over these 12 days, but I should be able to knock out a chunk of it, which works for me.

OH MAN! I'm telling you I feel fail at everything lately. So, thank you.
The big cookie was yesterday and I'm so very tired from it, and yet couldn't sleep. If you stop and listen you can hear the violins. ;)

I feel your pain! And anytime, it's why we're here. Come the first of the year, I'll be the one falling apart. My baby will be 16 in January, my other will be 18 in February and then GRADUATING IN MAY. Yeah, I can forsee myself being a hot mess the first half of 2018. :D

*hugs* It's going to be a long week, but hopefully you can find some time to rest up.

well, definitely not in 1000 words or less...
no idea how many words actually...
but I have 3 chapters to go in my NaNo novel, that I would like to have done by the end of the year.
so I won't be following the script exactly here, but I can post my progress and announce completion the same time as everyone else.
No beta either, as its only the first draft and will eventually go up for publication ;)

I don't even know... it's been so long since I wrote anything. I am aiming to do more for 2018, but maybe I'll just offer myself up for beta-reading at this point; there's enough to do with sorting out next year's schedule and then there's RL to deal with... we won't go into it just now, although I know you will be excited once you hear... so here's a hint (see icon)!!!
