Sometimes, the smallest gift, is the largest treasure. This is my kitty Squirrel Bug. I raised him since he was minutes old and his mother left him for dead near a puddle of water.

The best treasures are the ones that you never knew were there all along.

Treasure what you love, he thought, reaching through the vines of despair that threatened to tangle anew. Cling to that and you’ll survive…you’ll beat this. You’ll win.
But he didn’t know who his thoughts were directed towards, who he was encouraging. Himself? Another? The monster with the yellow eyes?
Gawd, he prayed not.
But hope…such a small gift…was in truth the greatest treasure of all, for hope could spawn a million successes if only one had the strength to hold onto it. Here on this stony precipice, four clawed feet dug into the earth as an anchor, he held onto that sturdy golden strand of hope, the strand that ran back through him and into the heart of Tigh Ard’s House tapestry of power. He would hold on, he would pull, for as long as it took the other to climb out of the black sludge of the abyss which tried to devour him. If he let got, if his hold faltered even a little, the other would be lost.
He did not know how he knew this. In the dream, at least, it felt to be true.
