Wow, I didn't know it had a name, and I see that the term itself is relatively recent, but this is something that a lot of Kiwis do ALL the time when they speak!

I've done it too. Horrible habit to have during job interviews because it makes you seem like you don't know your own qualifications or that you are not sure of yourself.
