Date: 2017-08-06 04:58 pm (UTC)So I'm hoping that for this challenge, non-fic fandom writing can count. I will aim to write ficlets, but if thoughts on the show predominate then I'm-a-gonna go with that to conserve time and energy and still churn some words.
Below a cut due to H50 spoilers for those who haven't watched S7 yet, though nothing earth-shatteringly-spoilery, really....
Adam without Kono? Of all the characters who *are* returning to H50 for S8, I'm most interested to see how they handle Adam's story line. My guess is that he ends up working with the team while she's off trying to help save victims of sex-trafficking; we'll see bits with him on the phone with her, maybe even hear her on the other end sometimes as they discuss what she is up to.
My guess, too, is that he'll be understanding of her decision. He knows what he put her through when he ended up in prison and will likely feel he owes her the freedom to chase her own goals and to grow into a new role/mission if that's where she needs to go.
And if S8 is the final season as so many expect, then they could wrap it all up with him leaving to join her. That would be my hope; they're too great together to split up and maybe the only couple on the franchise I truly ship at this point.
My guess is we'll see a bit of her here and there before the very end of the series, and perhaps even get that 'Core Four' shot of them all celebrating together- if Daniel Dae isn't averse to returning for that. I hope so - would love to see it wrap up on a united note after all these years.
As for McDanno - I have a thought or three on how their characters should end up which I *do* aim to fic. It'll never happen the way that I imagine, though, and not because it's McDanno, but more because it doesn't involve explosions, car chases, or absurd numbers of bullets being fired. ;)
Anyway, I'm glad Adam's not gone for S8 - I find that I enjoy the measured, understated and intelligent way Ian Anthony Dale portrays him and I look forward to, perhaps, a bigger role for him next fall.

Jaina's words echoed in Rey's head as she looked to the sky and she saw what looked like TIE Fighters fly over her head, she felt it. It was cold, almost like Jakku at night when the light was snuffed out and there was nothing but Darkness.
And all the while Rey thought, Jaina was making it all up due to pure spite for her brother.
He was here, somewhere on the planet, ready to attack. She knew what he wanted...the map to Leia Skywalker Solo, hidden inside the BB-8 unit. There would be dire consiquences if that were to happen.
Rey, knew she was going to have to fight Kylo Ren on her own if that happened. It terrified her,she didn't know if she could do it. But she had to. For the sake of the galaxy she had to.
She knew she had a power inside her, now that clues to who she was raised to the surface. The only thing she could do, was use the power she had inside to fight as best she could.
And she would, even if she died trying.
