Happy Friday! It's a warm weekend out here in the Midwest, but tomorrow, all thoughts turn to ice as the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights begins. So, instead of giving you all a big list of hockey things, I've gathered a list of 49 qualities that make up a champion. (Maybe I should send it to the Blues GM when I'm done here.)

So, give me a number or ask for a random prompt and I'll send you something that will hopefully inspire words or art. If you put together at least a 200-word drabble or a piece of art by 11:59pm on Thursday, June 8, I will reward you with a drabble or words to my WIPs.

Happy writing (and Let's Go Knights)!

So there I was, all set to write after dinner, a nice little ficlet idea all nailed down and ready to go--and in the process of reaching for a spoon so I could eat some ice cream, I stuck my hand directly into the middle of the steam coming off our electric kettle (which I didn't realize was on). Cue me spending the rest of the evening keeping one hand carefully in an ice bath.

So, some nice 2nd-degree burns and 0 words later, I am passing the torch along to [livejournal.com profile] shanachie_quill, and wishing you better health & safety! :P

I had a rough couple of weeks. Got a new job, couldn't get released from my contract and thought I was going to have to go back to the job I hated. But everything came through on Wednesday and I'm all set for next school year.

All of that made it difficult to focus on writing. I now have a lot of catching up to do if my novel is going to be finished by it's deadline, but I'm hoping I can do it.

For now... I added 1297 words to five different WIPs and I feel that I made good progress. Hopefully if nothing else, I'll get the 1100 words I need to keep up to date on my novel (and I finally got the scene I've been struggling with finished tonight... hopefully my betas think it's good enough when they read it).

Onto [livejournal.com profile] agdhani to keep the streak going!
