It's time to start us off on our April list! [livejournal.com profile] chokolattejedi - Show us what you've got! You can do this!!!

Welcome to the April Graphic Connections post! Same 'rules' apply for this one as the previous ones. For new folks basically, a graphic is posted and then someone claims that graphic (in a reply to it's thread), then creates a new graphic that is connected in some way to the graphic you claimed. (be it hair color, theme, fandom, character, actor/actress etc... stock OR fandom) You post your newly created graphic in a new thread (to keep us from getting stringy and hard to read)

One person per graphic claim. If 2 people claim something at the same time, the first posted claim gets it, the next posted claim can claim the next graphic. Don't claim your own graphic.:)

If you played last month, you know how to do it. :)

If your graphic is larger than 300 pixels wide or tall, please us this code (so we have uniformly sized thumbnails)

I'm not going to worry about rewards, because it'll be too hard to really figure out, but also, the fun and reward is in watching your number counts go up as you play! :)

Have fun!!

(I am going to post the first image, which is my response/claim for the last image posted in march, which was a Star Trek Enterprise image.) We can go from there. and see how long it takes to come back around to Michael Shanks. ;)

Depress (verb)
de·press [dih-pres]

verb (used with object)
1. to make sad or gloomy; lower in spirits; deject; dispirit.
2. to lower in force, vigor, activity, etc.; weaken; make dull.
3. to lower in amount or value.
4. to put into a lower position: to depress the muzzle of a gun.
5. to press down.
6. Music. to lower in pitch.

Synonyms
1. dishearten, discourage, sadden. See oppress.
3. devalue, cheapen.

Antonyms
4. raise, elevate.

Origin: 1275–1325; Middle English depressen < Anglo-French, Old French depresser < Latin dēpressus pressed down (past participle of dēprimere, equivalent to de- de- + -primere, combining form of premere to press); see pressure

Now YOU come up with a sentence (or fic? or graphic?) that best illustrates the word.

When you didn't make your plan ... )

To be on target for our 15 million this year, at the end of March we needed to have 3.75 million.

To that we can now say: PFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

That's right my fellow worders! We've got:
4.3 million!

I'm just.... SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Can you hear me squeeing from where you are? I'm pretty sure you can!

To the best of my ability, the counting goes like this:

Image word: 3,249 x 1,000 This is up 1,161!

Written word: 1,095,864 This is up 330,503!

[livejournal.com profile] 1_million_words total for the end of March: 4,334,864!

Who's gonna squee with me?

The WIPs added up to 147,925 which makes us that much more awesome!

LOOK WHAT WE CAN DO!!!

Happy April Fool’s Day!

Today is the first day of April and hopefully Mother Nature is finished fooling around with the weather because we’re really ready for Spring.

I and Gala would like to welcome you to this month’s writing challenge. I gave everyone a preview during my last turn at the weekend challenge.

This month’s challenge is a songfic/vid challenge.

Here’s how it will work:

You get to pick the fandom and Gala or I will give you three song choices as closely based on the fandom as we are able. Despite what everyone at work thinks, I am not all knowing, and I can’t speak for Gala.

Ex: CSI: Miami
You’re So Vain by Carly Simon
Behind Blue Eyes by The Who
Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top

Or

If you have song that just screams to you to be incorporated into a fic or vid or image go for it.

This is going to be an awesome challenge and month!!!

So let’s kick it into gear and knock it out of the park.

(P.S. Can we get a challenge, tag oh mighty mods?)

It's Day 91!!!!

Who has made their graphic or written word count?

Chime in!

I meant to post this a few days ago, but the convention and then traveling back home just wiped me out. Because of my crazy schedule this month, I didn't manage to post any of my works before now (I thought I had, but found the typed up post sitting on my desktop, unposted), so this is my all of March wrap up! (not sure whether to *facepalm* or \o/ at that)
