Holiday sign ups

We talked about doing holiday posts early last month. Having one member write something about the holiday, what it means to them, and how it inspires them.
simplyn2deep did a fantastic job with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and then your mods dropped the ball. Sorry, we're entirely fallible and have a deep seeded love of porn. Sometimes these things get in the way.
I'm going to try and pick up the ball again! I'm going to list out holidays that I know of, I don't mean to slight anyone, I do live in a tiny little world and am not really schooled in holidays that happen outside of Massachusetts (although I'm not all that schooled in holidays that necessarily happen within Massachusetts either). The point of my ramble is that I want you all to chime in with holidays that I've left off the list below, and please provide the date of said holiday. I'd also like people to volunteer for any holiday they'd like to post about.
