Oniomania (noun)
oniomania [oh-nee-uh-mey-nee-uh, -meyn-yuh]
noun
1. an uncontrollable desire to buy things.
Origin: < New Latin < Greek ṓni (os) for sale (derivative of ônos price) + -o- -o- + Late Latin mania -mania
Now YOU come up with a sentence (or fic? or graphic?) that best illustrates the word.
Now that I've seen this word, it would have been excellent to have on Friday considering that in the US, the day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday. It is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November). Since at least the 1930s, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the US, and most major retailers open very early (and more recently during overnight hours) and offer promotional sales. And let's not forget the fights that usually happen as well.
