Saturday mornings like this were rare.
Danny had long time ago, gotten used to waking up in Steve's bed. Most of the time, it was to Steve watching him, satisfied grin on his lips. A few times, he would wake to Steve in the kitchen, humming to a song on the radio, that he would never admit to.
But then there were mornings like this. Mornings where Danny would not only wake before Steve, but Steve himself, was so tired that he would just sleep on.
Danny loved watching the peaceful look on Steve's face. Or, how his skin glowed with the early morning light. And, it would always amuse Danny that he never fell off the bed with Steve sleeping, limbs stretched out like a starfish.
Maybe he could get Gracie to call him Starfish Steve.
Speaking of which, they had his little girl to pick up this morning.
“Steve,” Danny whispered, “time to get up.”
Steve answered by mumbling and nothing much else. Danny tried a few more times, each time raising his voice, without success. So Danny might have changed to more underhanded tactics...with water.
“Son of a...Water Danny, really?”
“Good morning Sleeping Beauty.” Danny said, putting the water glass back on the nightstand.
“Couldn't have woken me up with a kiss?” Steve tried to look annoyed, he really did.
“Are you that hard up for a kiss in the morning?” Danny teased.
Grabbing Danny while rolling over, Steve was able to trap Danny under him.
“You know Danno, that's not the only thing that's hard or up this morning.
