Note to self: Always leave an *actual* note to self on the sink when you have an AM task that you're not used to. That way... ya might not be getting 'er done 90 minutes under the wire. Sigh.

Kaige is taking a much deserved break, and so Haldoor and I are stepping up with the Monday post the next few weeks.

How is everyone feeling about their creative endeavors this May? I'm happy with my gardening — both flower/perrenial and vegetable. Gardening gets me outdoors for anywhere from a couple of hours a day to five hours a day, sometimes. All that fresh air is very needed after our long winter. Sunshine? We've been short on that in the northeast, but I almost don't care. As long as it's not cold and I can walk, mow, prune, plant, compost and weed-whack, I'm happy.

As for writing, I'm still far behind where I used to be. I think that will improve a little as I get the gardens set up and have less I need to accomplish there.

Are you giving original fiction a shot? If you need some inspiration, here are a few prompts. Even if they net you a ficlet or a series of drabbles, maybe they're a way to give original fiction a try without committing to long form.

- Write about someone receiving a letter (or text) from someone. Is it a breakup note? A love note? An apology? What happened, and how do they feel about the words they're reading. What do they opt to do because of them?
- Go outside and pick three things you see/hear/smell. Write a short fic based on them.
- Dialogue prompt: What are you doing here?
- "Who are you, and what have you done with (____)."

There are still five days to get in on the original fic challenge, and then...get your floaties ready! We launch the 2025 Pool Party!

One more thing: If you want to sign up for June's Big Buddy and Daily Count Challenges, give the page a little scroll and hit up the posts for each of them, which you'll find below.

The rewriting phase didn't seem to make much progress for a three day weekend...but I guess 2.5 chapters isn't so bad.
And we got some yard stuff done.
Plus, my christmas projects are coming along and I'm caught up on most shows (Except Last of Us).
Tuesday will be a busy day at work, then the boss will be gone for the better part of two weeks...so I'm hoping to squeak in some more words before the end of the month.

Thank you for covering for me! I wasn't sure what kind of shape I was going to be in on Monday. Hah!

My tomato and pepper plants are going crazy. The four o'clocks bloomed as well and have these gorgeous red flowers on them. I need to repot everything I grew from seed this year as they're outgrowing what I put them in.

I'm about 2500 words from my goal for the first time in a long time. Not sure if I'll hit it, but I'm happy. I did also write something for the challenge, it just needs editing and posting.

I think that's about it. I'm tired and so ready for my upcoming vacation.
