Weekend Challenge - Lyrics that won't be heard in this weekend's Christmas concert (except one!)

This weekend marks the annual Christmas concert for my church. It’s been a strange year with us losing our longtime choir director in September and several choir members as a result. Our small but mighty group has been feeling our way through the music with the help of three interim directors with distinctly different styles and will hopefully deliver a wonderful experience to all who attend. All that to say, that this weekend’s challenge features a selected lyric from 39 songs that didn’t make the cut for the program and 1 that did.

The regular rules apply- pick a number or numbers from 1 to 40 or ask for a random selection and I’ll give you the corresponding prompt. (Let me know if you want me to give you the song title as well or if you want to try to guess where it’s from.) Write 200 words or do some art by the time the next weekend challenge is up and I’ll reward you with a drabble or words to my WIP.

I did some work on a beanie I'm making for myself. Unfortunately, due to having a planet-sized noggin, it was too small, so I'm having to improvise. I have also started work on some doll blankets for my friends' grandkids and it's nice to be busy without over-taxing myself.

I'm still struggling with a cold so am happy to leave it there - I did a blog post, have done quite a bit of reading this week and am generally starting to feel like I might return to being a full human being in the near(ish) future!
