Sometimes it is helpful to understand a character's body type. Fantasy races we design ourselves are open to our own interpretation, but real-world differences between races can be used to influence our designs. And by recognizing the differences in our own world, we can determine if our characters fall into the 'norm' for their race or if they stand out...and how this might affect their place in the world around them and their view of themselves.
