Much like a loquacious, diminutive Jersey-native Detective who holds the favor of many of our hearts, I have been known, on occasion, to use five words when one would do. Generally, this isn't a problem but the cliche is true - less is more. (Cliches are cliches for a reason, no?)

While considering my tendency to write more when less would be better, I always think of one of my favorite songs by Billy Joel, one of my favorite singers. Songs by their nature must say a lot in a few words. I think "Piano Man" does a wonderful job with this.

And so, without further ado or additional (possibly unnecessary) words, I present to you a quote from "Piano Man" that says a lot in a few words.

He says, "Son, can you play me a memory

I'm not really sure how it goes
