I agree with the other posters, I like your definition of rarepair! Too often do I see main pairs in rare fandoms being relegated to rarepair status, when the problem isn't actually the rarity of the pair but the rarity of the fandom.
Hmm... I'd prefer someone to hit me up with something in one of my fandoms, because if I don't normally think of it then... I wouldn't think of it? I'll list some big fandoms and the main ships I've seen around below:
- Teen Wolf (Sterek, anything hinted at in canon, everybody/Stiles) - MCU (Clint/Coulson; I've also seen a lot of Steve/Bucky, Steve/Tony, Clint/Natasha, Phil/May, and canon-acknowledged pairs, etc. around so I wouldn't consider these as rarepairs either) - Star Wars (Han/Leia, Poe/Finn/Rey, ObiAnaPadme, ObiQui, ObiSiri, QuiTahl, canon pairs) - Bleach (I think pretty much everyone gets shipped with Ichigo, and most friends get shipped together) - Any sports anime within the last decade; not gonna list them all here because it's likely that nobody knows about these anyway.
And yes, I'm aware of what I'm asking. The last time I challenged people to offer me rarepairs a friend suggested Bellatrix/Dementor. She regretted it when I handed the fic to her. Ah, sweet revenge.
