1_million_words | Calendar check-in

Hi guys! This post is for those of you working on calendar pages to check in.

How are you doing? All finished? Got some done, but still working on others? Not even started and/or need some help? Here's where you tell us what you're up to, ask for help or discuss anything you want about how you're doing or encourage/help others to work on their pages.

Remember, this challenge closes on 30 November 2013 so we need to get moving!

Please DO NOT post your pages yet. If you're done and you want to submit them already, you can PM me a Dropbox or Photobucket link to them, or email me with the pics themselves (drop me a PM if you don't have my email address). There's no hurry, but I'm happy to accept the links/pics any time from now until 30 Nov. We'll do a big reveal when Gala and I have compiled the necessary pics into complete calendars.

Now, one last thing. If you're like me and have not even started your pages, and/or you feel you're not going to be able to complete them in time, now is the time to let us know. If you want to pull out completely, or give up a page or need extra time to finish something, please PM me with your difficulty, or ask for help in a comment here if you think you can still finish it in time with some help or advice.

Personally, I've had a really busy time in RL lately, and keeping up with all my online and personal activities has been hard. I claimed three pages for the calendars, but I have no idea if I'm going to be able to complete them. So I'm calling out for help - if anyone feel like they'd be able to take one of my pages, I'd be really grateful. If not, I'll do my best to make time for them, but I really do feel a bit overwhelmed just now and as graphics are not my strong suit, I'm going to have to admit defeat. My pages are: September - Gazes/Eyes - H50; November - Hugs - Lost; July - Couples/Pairing - The Following. Let me know in comments if you are able to take one on - and thanks!

One page done, screencaps saved for a few and ideas of what I'd like to do for some of them.

If I have the chance might try to make one while on vacation if not the plan is to finish them the weekend we're back home.

I haven't started mine, but I'm planning on doing so this weekend. What sources do people use for screen caps? Netflix/computer caps? I've seen links for H50 caps, which is cool, but not sure how many other fandoms have such a thing.

Thoughts on how folks are collecting their caps would be helpful.

Oh phew, I'm not the only one! I can't say what sources there are for screen caps, but perhaps others will comment on that for you.

I've picked my caps up over time as I've been going along I'm afraid. There are some pages out there that screen cap across a lot of different media and there area few LJ comms that provide a caps in a few fandoms. Was there a specific show/movie you were after?

I think I'm in good shape for H50 and Supernatural. The two I need most are Lost - as I've only ever done vids, nothing with stills - and Torchwood. I have every Lost DVD so could grab them- do people frequently just grab from DVD?

Hunting down the episodes we need for each theme and culling the exact images that fit is where I expect this'll take some time, so if there are links to online sources that'd be great! Otherwise it's off the Netflix and DVD for me!

There are some people who screencap entire series and make them available, unfortunately I can't say I've seen Lost or TW I'm afraid, and neither are listed on the sites I use.

Actors fan pages can be really good. If I'm after a set of pics for a character I'll go to a fansite and check the galleries. They often have full movies/TV series already capped, although they are skewed towards the actor you can find some good shots.

I think if you use Google for pics searching you can find some great site with caps too :) I usually do this when I have to make something I'm not familiar with.

Thanks, Galad - very good idea, I don't use google images much in an organized way, but will give it a shot, too.

One done, the other is technically done too, but I'm not happy with it and am having second thoughts...

I can probably take the 5-0 one off your hands as I have a load of caps somewhere I can use and I wouldn't need to dig around. I don't know The Following at all, I'm afraid.

I'd love it if you could take the H50 one - thank you so much! Don't worry about the others; I'll have less pressure on me knowing I only have two instead of three to come up with.
