It's Monday - Ready or Not!
Happy Monday everyone! Can you believe it’s May already? School’s almost out in these parts and I’m almost the mother of a senior (again). YIKES. Can’t lie though, I’m looking forward to having some quiet mornings again over the summer.
Reminders:
1. Flash Challenge! Your flash challenge prompt is: birthday. Give me 100 words or a graphic and I’ll reward you with my undying love and admiration.
2. Last week’s challenges:
Funemployed - Plasticity – Weekly Challenge – Say What Friday – Unicorn – 33 –
Tootle – Conlang – R – Zealous
3. Big Buddy 16%! How are you doing? It’s still early in the month, so don’t sweat it if you’re behind. Plenty of time to still catch up.
asphaltcowgrrl – 3,200
agdhani – 8,000
sharpiesgal – 1,920
jennytork – 3,200
simplyn2deep – 496/5
cmk418 – 480
bizarra – 1,600
jstabe – 1,600
Signups for May are here! It’s early and we’re down a bunch of our usual suspects, so feel free to join in if you’re so inclined.
4. The Daily Count challenge is here , in case you need to check when you’re next up.
5. May’s challenge is going to be a musical one hosted by Kaige. She’s taking requests here. Since I’m writing this on Sunday, the first prompts might already be posted. Hazards of trying to be efficient! (And let’s be real: not forgetting my job hahaha.)
Let us know how you did last week and what you have on deck to make this week the best ever. Happy May and happy writing!

Not sure what this week holds, but hoping the 2 kitties that pushed out the window screen and got out come home. One was an outside cat to begin with, so we're not too concerned about him. We caught a glimpse of him last so he was okay. The other old man kitty has never been outside, is generally terrified when he goes out, and has some health issues, so we hope we can find him sooner rather than later.

Milestones - OZ - Sean Murphy/Tim McManus - 115 words
“No doom for me. Other than that sunny everyday feeling that it might be my last day on Earth. The doom is your thing. Unless there’s something in that cake that’s gonna kill me.”
“It’s your grandmother’s recipe.”
“Oh, so there’s a lot in that cake that’s gonna kill me,” Sean said with a grin.
“Dying would make it the worst milestone birthday ever.”
“So, I’d finally top your tenth.”
“Nothing will top my-“
An alarm blared to life, startling them both. “Hold that thought,” Sean said, before they both took off running in response to the alarm.
