Fandom Squee Day 10: Sense8

Welcome to Day 10 of Fandom Squee! Sorry it's a bit late — it's been a crazy day. But here we are and up now is:

SENSE8

This is another show I haven't actually watched, but I know a lot of people who are crazy in love with it I also know there are orgies, and I do hope to watch it someday. So for those of you who love it, tell us why. Are you excited for a second season?

Have some gifs for inspiration:

Ohhhh, I do love this show! Yep, very excited for Season Two, which I guess is now due out in March or so?

It's got so much of what I love in a show- suspense and some darkness, but also some lighter touches and humor. It's got twisty, turny back story and a mystery to unravel. And each character is struggling with something that's deeply difficult, something that challenges them to be their better/stronger self whether they feel able to or not.

I like some of the backstories better than others, but even the ones I'm not as invested in are entirely watchable.

It's colorful and fast-paced, but not *too* fast paced. It's set all over the world, another thing I love in a show and haven't really seen to this extent since LOST.

And yep, it's pretty sexy - but not in the boring, 10pm-Tuesday-Network-TV-show kind of way.

I knew I was hooked when I had to watch some of the epis 20 minutes at a time, 'cause I was too worried for the characters to sit and watch it through, lol.

So, a rather glowing recommendation, I see! :D

Oh, yes - I'm all in on that show. Not to say it's perfect; sometimes I felt like they could have taken a little less time to relate parts of the story. But it's a pretty captivating show, I'd say!

I'll put it on the list for when the kids are out of school. I tend to watch shows in the morning while I'm making lunches and my 16-year-old lives to scold me for watching inappropriate things. Hah.

This has been in my Netflix queue for... well, since it premiered. Maybe I ought to watch it eventually?

YES! Unlike Dreamy, I watched it in big chunks because I instantly loved it and - like a good book - had to know what happened next! (of course it helps my pleasure a lot knowing there are gay characters, and at least one 4 person orgy! HA! It's tastefully done though and not explicit) It's not a ton of episodes either if I remember correctly, so you don't need masses of time. ;-)

Oh awesome! I love that the Netflix and BBC shows have short seasons (mostly) because it's easier to get through them. My kids are out of school next week, so maybe I'll start watching Monday? Thanks for your input. :)

I knew about the show, but only actually considered watching it around mid-August Rush. I think it took me about three days to get through, but it was definitely nice to have all the episodes right there, and not have to wait for each week to pass.

Personally, I could have done without all the nudity.. but I'm a giant prude. LOL

Also, mini! Will is an actor I fell in love with via one episode of NCIS NOLA, so it was really awesome to see him in something new! Definitely waiting for Season 2.

Nomi is awesome; the car chase through SanFran is AMAZING; and it is definitely worth watching (if all else for the cinematography, as they filmed each story in the native lands and it's just a beautiful world)

I'm glad you watched! it is such an interesting show with so much to recommend it (I quite liked the nudity, ha! ;-P ) and you're so right about the cinematography too. It was so much fun picking shots for August Rush and I think I found some great ones, if I do say so!

As for Will, YES! I'd seen Brian J. Smith in Hate Crime and The War Boys (both of shich he plays gay in, incidently) and briefly in Quantico, and it was nice to see him in something where he gets to play someone very different. Interestingly, the guy who plays Wolfgang has also played gay... (not that I'm obsessed or anything, LOL)

LOL Grown-up Will isn't too bad to look at, either.. but I was talking about the younger version of him. :) I'm using screencaps of Max on NCIS for an RP character.. though I should try and grab a few from the show for his glummer scenes :D

Ah! I should have realised when you mentioned mini! Will, but I am far too easily swayed by good-looking adult men!

Have fun RPing with the little guy! ;-)
