Word of the Day 4/17/13

Discrepancy (noun)
dis·crep·an·cy [dih-skrep-uhn-see]

noun
1. the state or quality of being discrepant; difference; inconsistency.
2. an instance of difference or inconsistency: There are certain discrepancies between the two versions of the story.

Synonyms
1. incongruity, disagreement, discordance, contrariety, variance. See difference. 2. variation.

Origin: 1615–25; < Latin discrepantia, equivalent to discrepant- (see discrepant) + -ia; see -ancy

Now YOU come up with a sentence (or fic? or graphic?) that best illustrates the word.

Nice snippet; sounds like a piece of a case exactly! ;-)

Thanks. Except I have no idea what the case is. And snippet is a misnomer because it's not snipped from anything.

Well, it's a nice moment - maybe your muses will one day provide the rest of the case. And words are not always precise, but it certainly looks like it could have come from something!
