Google docs query

I've got a long writing project on the go  - around 75k at the moment - and thought I'd back it up on google docs BUT it doesn't like it. It doesn't even seem to like it if I paste in 20,000 words at a time. So, what length docs do you have on google docs? Is it the fact that I'm pasting in big chunks that's the problem? My connection? Or am I trying to do something that's just not going to work in some other way?

I've never tried to paste anything that large into google docs. then again, all my pieces are broken into chapters/parts with around 2000-5000 words in each part

try to keep it under 20k per doc because it hates big hunks and WILL delete some information to make it conform to your liking. My sister and I lost some words before we discovered that.

Even at 10k it will still give you some lag and have a hissy fit from time to time.
