Well, although I did seriously consider it at one point, I didn't ditch the family trip to write in the end, so I haven't got much done, but on the plus side I managed to deal with a bad case of writer's block by putting aside something with a character who wasn't playing ball (not helped by the fact that I'd planned that one ages ago and then canon completely cocked it up although I did decided to go with it anyway) and writing something else instead (which actually helped me work something else out in my head, but that's something I only feel I can talk about with people who know me). So it worked out in the end.
