I am all kinds of conflicted about this drabble! Aggh. And I'm not sure how I ended up with Tolkien out of an "E" but here it is...

Éowyn: And, in the End...
Éowyn fought arm in arm with her father, King Théoden and did him far more than proud.

"No living man am I! You look upon a woman."

Generations of girls heeded her battle cry – mastered the arts of war, fought and died for Rohan with one goal: to equal the courage, guile and passion of Éowyn.

She married Farimir, bore Elboron, saw eighty summers.

Her final words are recorded as “Ithilien, I love you” but those who sat with her that night know better.

Despite it all, it wasn’t home and hearth she cried out for at the last, but Aragorn.
