I can't pay much, but any responses would be appreciated!
The first is simply that I'm struggling to find time to do the rewards I offered for the music challenge last weekend. Now, I still owe
uxseven,
witchyemerald and
kapuahi and I WILL get these double-drabbles (and yes, slightly longer fic for
uxseven, since that one kinda got away on me...) done eventually, so please be patient with me!
Anyway, rather than asking anyone to help specifically with those fics I need to write, I'm wondering if anyone would care to sign up for future 'reward-duty'? This entails being willing and able to reward our weekend challengers for creating something for the challenge, either by writing something/creating an icon (or whatever kind of graphic you feel able to make) fairly quickly. I'm not quite sure what the best way to work this is, but if you enjoy this kind of reward challenge (and I'm only really asking for drabbles or icons, because much more can become too difficult timewise, as you can see by this post), then please sign up here in a comment!
I'm looking at several options, so also vote on which would suit you better and we'll see how the vote goes! The options I have in mind are this:
1. Take on setting up the challenge yourself and be in charge of supplying all rewards as the challengers post their work
2. Leave the challenges with the mods but track the weekend challenge you have agreed to take on (either in advance and/or when a mod asks for volunteers) and again, reward as the entries come in
3. Leave the challenges with the mods but jump in when you see an entry by a challenger/challengers you would like to reward, even if it's just for one of the offerings that weekend (so several people would make the rewards for each weekend)
And if anyone has any other thoughts on how we could manage this, feel free to give your input!
My second problem is HOW DO YOU STOP A FIC GETTING OUT OF HAND? Now I've put the above question to you, I'm not keen on cluttering up the comments here with an unrelated topic though, so I'll do a separate post about this later on. Do think about how you manage this and come to that meeting though - your ideas will be more than welcome!

Date: 2013-02-15 07:04 pm (UTC)Ha! I wish the stick didn't make my fic go, "Hit me, hit me!" and just end up encouraging more words...

Date: 2013-02-14 11:47 pm (UTC)perhaps a post for us to comment what fandom/pairings we'll write/create graphics for? kinda like the word count one, maybe. it'll be easier to state what is it in the reward we'll want, and more importantly we can know our fellow members better.

Date: 2013-02-15 07:08 pm (UTC)You're absolutely right and I was thinking the very same thing before I came to check out these replies! I'll get a post together soon.

Date: 2013-02-15 01:46 am (UTC)Like everyone else, I think 2 & 3 are the best bets.
I'll try to write a couple of reward drabbles if I can corral my muses long enough to make them real drabbles and not the billion word variety.
Give me a shout (or quack) if you need a hand!

Date: 2013-02-15 07:12 pm (UTC)Thanks for your input - and I'll add you to the list, as you could look at 'comment fic' size replies, which would give you a bit more space to wind things up.
Love your icon, btw, and especially your punny Give me a shout (or quack) if you need a hand! comment! :D
