Pool Party Banner

Grab your floaties, slap on that sunscreen and slide on your favorite slippahs/flip-flops, 'cause it's time! The 1_million_words POOL PARTY is ON for 2025, y'all!

Here's the way we do it up for our June challenge:
For the next six weeks, we want you to play in somebody else's pool. Dive right in, and splash around some fandoms you've never played in before.

Write 1,000 words or create 10 graphics in any fandom you haven't written or graphic'd in before.

How you get to your total is totally up to you:  Do drabbles in various fandoms, put together a fanvid in one fandom, write a single fic — just make it all in worlds that are new to you!

Have any ideas on where you may want to start? Share them here!  Comments? Questions?  Let us know.

Starting tomorrow, I'll be back with regular reminders, prompts, perhaps even a few word wars if we can synch some up.

Good luck, happy dabbling, and here's to June!

I saw that I was up for 1st June and my first thought was 'what the heck am I gonna write?!' Once I'd stopped laughing (I need to write some book reviews but need to actually read the darned books first), I found myself doing three product reviews, a long blog post, updating my writing/graphic figures on my spreadsheets and here and realising that I've spent quite a productive day!

So, tagging [livejournal.com profile] simplyn2deep to get Monday going with a bang!

Other Word Forms

Words that the contestants slipped up on included "ascetic," to describe austerity or self-denial; "blasé," to be apathetic to pleasure or excitement; and "gnathonic," to mean fawning.
From Reuters

From Project Gutenberg

"That Jack's is somewhat of a gnathonic and parasitic soul, or stomach, all Bideford apple-women know; but I suspect more than Deus Venter has brought him hither."

Now YOU come up with a sentence (or fic? or graphic?) that best illustrates the word.
